eSFL Insider-Week 2, 2014

This weeks Rivalry Game:
The Rhodes Runners (1-0) try to improve on a 7-10 lifetime record versus coach Je. Kizima and his Zima Ruskies (1-0). This rivalry dates back to 2004 and these teams have met at least once every season since.  Last year the Ruskies won 172-136 in week eight. This year realignment has these teams in separate divisions so this will be their only matchup on the season.

At quarterback the Runners hope that A. Luck can compete with A. Rodgers, whom put up a disappointing 14.66 last week, compared to Luck's 37.7 performance. This week we give the edge to the Ruskies and Rodgers because lets face it, Rodgers rarely has two poor weeks in a row.

The running back positions look to favor the Runners, with Leveon Bell already posting a respectful 16.8 and Montee Ball likely to double that on Sunday. The Ruskies running back corp is old and washed up, and if they outscore the Rhodes' group it is a testament to luck in fantasy football rather than coaching skills.

At wide receiver the Runners have two key injuries that need to be closely watched. Roddy White and Alshon Jefferey both are listed as such, and without them coach Rhodes will be forced to play a running back at his flex position this week. Regardless wether Jeffery or White play, Rhodes is deep enough to hang with the pathetic corp the Ruskies will send out there. Reggie Wayne, Percy Harvin, and Jordy Nelson are all wonderfull players, three years ago. Edge to Rhodes with Hilton, White, and the NFL 2014 rookie of the year John Brown.

Tight end you say. Well, both these teams base their entire offense on tight end production. The Runners like Julious Thomas while Zima loves his Gronk. This week Thomas will not get three scores, nor will he get 100 yards. Watch for Gronk to win this battle of tight ends.

Flex position was added this year to reduce the available player talent in free agency. It has done that to a degree, but not as much as the league had hoped. Last week the flex position averaged 13.4 points across the league. Coach Rhodes is shorthanded at the wideout position due to injuries so he is forced to start a running back at the spot. However, J. Bell, his chose for the task, is capable and may be a solid start this week. The Ruskies are starting overrated Brandon Cooks, Cooks was a gym last week, and likely another this week. However, once Kenny Stills returns from injury to the Saints Cooks will have a reduced role in the offense. Most believe this is the next Calvin Johnson, no folks, it the next Kenny Britt. Edge this week to the Ruskies though.

Defense cannot be predicted and we won't try.

If we tally up the projections we have   Ruskies 192  Runners 193
This weeks contest will be decided by Kickers and defense.
RUNNERS 209   Ruskies 203

The other games this week are:

As you can see the Crownholder are wearing their throwback uniforms this week. It will be a perfect fit for a bunch of losers.
Frost 186   Crownholders 156

The Texas Boy's head coach has stated his displeasure with other owners' ability to quickly acquire a player from free agency, likely the funniest statement ever made in the eSFL.
The Fanatix (0-1) see no reason to think they will start the season at 0-2, and neither do I.
Fields 192  Temp 142

Powerhouse match-up. Likely the highest scoring contest of the week (the Coalition game will not be a contest). Not quit fellas. The Bruisers kicked the season off last week with a solid performance but lost to the power of the Runners. The Pulverizers barely beat the Temp unit in a close contest. This week the Texan Bruisers will polish the Pulverizers, a team that has highly overrated several key positions on their squad.
Bruisers 214   Pulverizers 159

Noone cares.
Houston 193  Viall 176

Like two heavyweight boxers at weigh in these owners have been slamming words at one another all week. The 'Cats are a pathetic looking unit. The 'Nators are not much prettier.

Nators 155   'Cats 139

Ouch! If the Texas Stars win this contest there is no justice in fantasy football.

Coalition 278   Stars 154

The Nachman team was quicklu introduced to eSFL style fantasy football last week in an embarrassing ass whooping from the under rated Fighting Pollocks. Get used to it MF.

Igama 186  Nachman 131

Two fine owners who just go about their business. The Pollocks alwayd start the season hot and peter out as it goes on. The Money team started their eSFL carrer with a solid first season, however, last season made everyone believe that was not the true RJ Griffin in year one. The dollar signs posted a nice 170 plus last week, won't happen this week. The Pollocks dropped a 190 bomb last week, it will be the same this week.

Pollocks 192   Money Team 156
