Texas Boy's Hold Off Runners
Adrian Peterson (27.9), Greg Jennings (27.7) and Mike Wallace (20.8) all scored over 20 points and the Temp's Texas Boy's (6-2) held off a late charge from the Rhodes Runners (5-3) to move into sole possession of first place in the Global Division. The Runners were led by wide receiver Calvin Johnson (22.5) and defensive stud Jared Allen (18.5) but were unable to muster enough of a running game to compete.
Ruskies pound brothers CrownholderThe Zima Ruskies (3-5) pulled off a big trade to begin the week but was dissapointed to witness his newly acquired players (Chris Johnson and Jordy Nelson) score a combined 20.7 points. His excite-o-meter pegged on Sunday evening however, as his star quarterback Drew Brees (53) and wide receiver M. Colston (28.8) single handedly sent the D Crownholder (5-3) team to their third loss of the season.
The Crownholders were led by Aaron Rodgers' 38.2.
Frost loses at Home to Pardue in front of crowd of three
The Frost Furrious Flurries (1-7) figured week 7 in the eSFL would be a good time to show their fans why they believe the season is not a lost one and a Gunner Cup title is in their plans. Unfortunately for them only three people came to the game and they performed exactly as they had their previous seven.114 points and a never in the game display type of performance with the lone bright spot being their team defense with 42 points.
The Pardue Bruisermakers (5-3) matched the Flurries on defense and added some, scoring 50 plus points and also getting double digit scoring from five other players to move back into contention for the fourth and final Global division playoff spot.
Texan Bruisers win fourth straight
The Texan Bruisers (6-2) moved within one game of first place in the Appalachian division with their fourth straight win over the McKinney Rednecks (4-4) and move the Appalachian inter division play record to 3-5 on the season.
The Bruisers' DeMarco Murray (34.8) and Matt Schaub (29.44) proved to be the difference in this contest as the Rednecks' leading scorer was only able to post 16.6 points in defeat. McKinney has lost three straight and falls one game out of the final playoff spot in the Global.
Igama beats Whitmore to move back in contention
The Sweaty Palms (3-5) of Igama won a contest deemed a "must win" over division foe Whitmore Workhorse (4-4) and moved withing one game of them in the race for fourth place and the final playoff spot in the Appalachian.
Igama's first round selection (second overall) in the 2011 eSFL draft (A. Foster) finally provided some much needed punch with 50.9 points. In addition to Foster's heroic effort, the play of defensive back D. Revis (14.5) and LB T. Suggs (11.5) was enough to ensure the Workhorse would lose their second straight game.
Whitmore's D. Sproles posted 30.9 but it was more than nine other players combined on his roster.
Perdew holds on to less than exciting win
The Perdew Pulverizers entered this weeks contest as the Juggernaut of the Appalachian and expected to remain that way as the less than powerful Fields Fanatix hosted what was deemed by the local media as the game of the year. The contest didn't own up to it's hype as both teams failed to reach the 100 point mark, the Mendoza line of the eSFL.
Perdew moved to 7-1 and remained one game ahead of the Bruisers for first in the Appalachian. The Fanatix fell to 2-6 and the only thing keeping them from the cellar in the Appalachian is a thing called Viall. This game wasn't worth the electricity used to display the score on my computer.
Kavanators escape embarrassment with win over Vigilante
The Kav's Kavanators (5-3) escaped an embarrassing loss against the downtrodden Viall Vigilante (0-8) and hold on to third place in the Appalachian. The lone bright spot for the Kavanators was wide receiver Antonio Brown (18.4) while the Vigillante received a nice game from Ben Roethlisberger (39.84) and Pierre Thomas(18.5). The Vigilante lost this game thanks to a pathetic defense that scored only 20.5 poins, 15 of which came from one player.
