Appalachian Division Championship Recap-2011

The 2011 eSFL division championships will go down in history as one of the most exciting to ever be witnessed. First, lets start off by giving a huge congratulations to both losing teams for a great season. Anyone who has participated in the eSFL understands
how tough it is to win in this league.

Igama Sweaty Palms 177.96
Kav`s Kavanators 175.98

Following each football season, the AFD Championship Game is held to determine which one of the 7 teams in the Appalachian Division of the eStandout Football League will appear in the Ballistic Bowl.
This season the game turned out to be one of the greatest games in league history as the Sweaty Palms held off the 'Nators to advance to their first Ballistic Bowl appearance in team history.
The Kavanators' ability to win in the playoffs was something people seemed uncertain of, despite winning their first such game the previous week against the Texan Bruisers. Meanwhile, coach Igama of the Palms received no such scrutiny and had the perception of being a clutch team despite being in the same boat. Two weeks later, everyone is likely to anoint coach Igama as an irresistible force after two wins give him a career post-season record of 2-0.
On week 15 of the eSFL, the Kavanators fell back to earth and returned to the little brother everyone wants to beat the hell out of.  His number one pick in the draft and star mid season free agent pick up wide receiver was unable to bail him out , if ever there was more proof that if something is possible, it will happen in fantasy football and the eSFL, this was it.
Both teams traded points throughout the weekend and the Kavanators turned the game over to their running back and wide receiver on Monday night. Antonio Brown opened the evening with a 16 yard pass worth 2.6 and it seemed the 'Nators were on their way. But as the evening progressed it became evident that this game would come down to the final snap, one in which was a punt and sent the team to defeat. The Igama team matched the 'Nators all night long with kicker David Akers and watched as what turned out to be the Kav teams last chance bounced off big Ben's chest on third and long.
Both teams should be congratulated for a great season and a division championship contest that will be discussed for years to come.
The Sweaty Palms will play the Pardue Bruisermakers of the Global Division in Ballistic Bowl XII and try to become the the second Appalachian Division champion in league history.
