Ballistic Bowl XII Recap-2011

The "Kid" can now call himself the first Igama to win a fantasy football championship in the entire world. J. Igama hung on tight all year, and over the past six weeks
he was able to edge out a very formidable Global Division opponent in the Pardue Bruisermakers to win the eSFL championship.
It's been 20 weeks of trash talking, bruised egos, upsets, underdog jostling and keen coaching. In the end, it was coach Igama who got the most from his players when it counted.
It's only right that these two gave us a close score in the finals — no one wants to see the trophy won in a blowout. Not quit up to the drama that the first two rounds of this years playoffs, but this game was still good old-fashion drama.
Six weeks ago, Igama was only able to muster 123 points and his team didn't exactly give anything to write home about other than Nate Washington's 32.5  fantasy points. The team lost their seventh game of the season and were two games below .500 and fighting for a Blackjack playoff spot. However, quarterback Matt Ryan and running back Arian Foster warmed up, how things changed!
The Pardue Bruisermakers are known as winners around these here parts. A playoff team nearly every season and one looking for payback after last seasons upset loss to the Whitmore Workhorse in Ballistic Bowl XI. The season started off slow and injuries mounted up week after week, but coach Ron demonstrated how a winner responds by finishing 8-6 and two miracle playoff victories. In Ballistic Bowl XII his misfortune remained as starting quarterback Tony Romo took two snaps and sit the rest of the game with a hand bruise. This time the MFIC couldn't overcome the shit luck and became the only team in league history to lose two straight Ballistic Bowls.
Ballistic Bowl XII will be remembered as the one that got away from the Global Division and for the Appalachian, well it was a rookie owner who held onto the league crown for the division.
Igama made no spectacular coaching moves in this one, starting what got him there. Led by Arian Foster and Matt Ryan the team overcame a less than stellar outing by their feared defense which only scored 35 total points. It was enough with the Romo injury and Foster was named the game MVP.

The Bruisermakers fell in the title game for the second straight year but this one is surely one that slipped away. As mentioned, quarterback Romo all but eliminated any hopes of a win with his zero points and hand injury. Coach Pardue made many wonderful coaching moves this season and was bashed the week before for sitting Romo in favor of Tebow, a move that nearly cost his team the division title. But had Pardue made the same move this week he would have won his first eSFL championship and certainly been labeled the greatest coach in history.

Global Division Championship Recap-2011

The 2011 eSFL division championships will go down in history as one of the most exciting to ever be witnessed. First, lets start off by giving a huge congratulations to both losing teams for a great season. Anyone who has participated in the eSFL understands how tough it is to win in this league.

Pardue Bruisermakers 155.06
Zima Ruskies 153.18

After an epic collapse in last seasons Ballistic Bowl the Pardue Bruisermakers will get another opportunity to win their first eSFL title in Ballistic Bowl 12 against the Igama Sweaty Palms.
The Global division championship matched the 2010 division champ Pardue Bruisermakers (8-6) against the 2004 Ballistic Bowl champ Zima Ruskies (8-6). The Pardue team was heavily criticized before the game for sitting their quarterback Tony Romo and starting backup Tim Tebow. After the game was secured with a win head coach Pardue said the move was a disciplinary one because Romo had failed to show up for a team meeting. Rumor is noone on the team actually showed up, but that cannot be confirmed. For the second week in a row the Bruisermakers pulled off a miracle, something that will be required in week 16 if the Global is to capture another championship.
The Ruskies entered the final game of the week needing only four points from linebacker Lamaar Woodley to send them to their second Ballistic Bowl in organizational history (the team won Ballistic Bowl V in 2004 as the Zima Fatbacks). What took place on that final Monday night game of week 15 turned out to be a disaster for coach Zima and a coaching move he did not make will haunt him forever. Coach Zima signed linebacker Lawrence Timmons (6 points) and was planning on starting him over the slightly injured Woodley. Moments before game time he was unable to make the change due to his mobile device not being able to acquire a signal, and the rest is history. The toughest part of the loss this week will likely be the 2012 second round draft pick his team gave up in a trade this season. In that trade the team acquired running back Chris Johnson and wideout Jordy Nelson. It's easy to criticize and point out that Zima would have won every game he did this season without these players. It's even easier to point out had he not made that trade he would have won this week with Vincent Jackson and another running back surely providing enough points for the win. However, those who criticize didn't have the opportunity, the Zima Ruskies were an outstanding team and are congratulated for a fine season.
Pardue earned the right to play in his second straight Ballistic Bowl with the win and looks to redeem himself after last seasons loss to the Whitmore Workhorse. The Global Division has been considered the toughest division in the league for most of the season, but it is likely the Bruisermakers will be considered the underdog against the Igama Sweaty Palms in Ballistic Bowl 12.

Playoffs 2011-Round 1 Recap-UPDATED

The 2011 eSFL playoffs began last Thursday evening with Cleveland and Pittsburgh and ended with Seatle and St. Louis last night. Two less than stellar contest to say the least, but both played pivitol roles in the eSFL.

Global Division Wild Card Round (Week 14)

140.28- 136.84
Temp`s Texas Boys 140.28
Pardue Bruisermakers 140.84

The Pardue Bruisermakers (8-6) at Temp's Texas Boy's (11-3) was the least discussed contest throughout the week based solely on the fact that the other division game seemed to be two juggernauts going at it. When it was all said and done this was the weeks most entertaining game and was settled by less than four ONE points. The Texas Boy's fell victim to the dreaded late update and fell short to the Bruisermakers in a heartbreaker. held on for the win as each team had one defensive player on Monday night, with Temp entering with a lead of around seven points. The Pardue unit fell short once again in the playoffs, a common theme for coach Pardue over the years, and moves into the Gunner Cup knockout stage. This week they NEARLY fell victim to what ailed them all season, injuries. Kevin Smith was a late scratch and wideout Laurent Robinson was listed as doubtful entering the game. Coach Pardue elected to start Miles Austin who has struggled the entire season with hammy injuries over Robinson and it cost nearly cost his team the game.
The Texas Boy's didn't look like a future champion posting an average 140 score, but they held strong and came up a little short in their bid for a third title. but they earned the right to play in the 2011 Global division championship this week. The reason this team lost won in the opening round this past week was simple, Greg Jennings injury and Cam Chancellor's 8.5  points on Monday. Reggie Nelson. Nelson was a late team acquisition and inserted into the lineup for the first time, and he responded with 19 points, but it was not enough. Quarterback Stafford and wide receiver Harvin also aided the cause with stand up performances that were expected of them. The Bruisermakers Texas Boy's will face the Zima Ruskies next week in a battle for a division championship and Ballistic Bowl appearance.

Zima Ruskies vs D Crownholder

 157.78-128.94

The Zima Ruskies (8-6) and D Crownholder (8-6) was the prime time game in the eSFL's opening round of the 2011 playoffs with two high powered units battling for a Ballistic Bowl birth. As it turned out, the Ruskies pushed the Crownholder around all day and the game fizzled out by the Sunday night game.
Zima himself did not perform up to his teams expectations, expectations that are very high after winning six of seven to close the season and averaging nearly 170 points per week in doing so. Led by quarterback Drew Brees and goat of the week in the NFL Marion Barber the Ruskies demonstrated why they are a serious threat each week. The core players had average games and the stars likewise, a testament of the power this team possesses.
The Crownholder entered the week with hopes of defeating the Ruskies for the first time in three attempts this season, it wasn't to be as Plaxico Burress and Jason Whitten disappointed with flaccid performances. "We were a running back away from being world champions this year, I really believe that", stated head coach Jordan after the game. His reference was likely towards Darren McFadden who has missed most of the season with injury and left his team with John Kuhn in the lineup this week.
The Ruskies will face the Texas Boy's for the Global division championship in week 15.

Appalachian Division Wild Card Round (Week 14)

219.7-157.42

The Perdew Pulverizers took their 11-3 division title team to the edge of immortality but was sent back to reality by the Igama Sweaty Palms and their 7-7 record. The Sweaty Palms entered the contest as big underdogs but proved once again, it only matters what happens this week, not last or any others.
Igama posted a league high 219 points because of unbelievable performances from his defensive unit,
74 points! Quarterback Matt Ryan had a season high 44 and Nate Washington once again played great. "I was really concerned about this contest, but Suggs eliminated most and Pierre-Paul ended all my concerns on Sunday night. Look forward to a good matchup against the Kavanators in the division championship game:, stated head coach Joel Igama.
The Pulverizers learned that powerhouse teams are simply a play or two away from being average when injuries put them deep into their depth charts this week. Without his teams "A" players the team posted a very nice score and has nothing to be regretful of in this one. "It didn't matter what we did, it's nearly impossible to defeat a team that scores 70 points on defense. Congrats to Igama and my team will proudly represent the division in the knockout stage of the Gunner Cup", coach Perdew said during the post game interview on eSFL Radio.
Igam moves to week 15 and will play the Kavanators for a shot at their first championship.

188.3-136.5

The Kavanators qualified for their first playoff appearance in 2011 and topped it off with a first round win over the Texan Bruisers. The 'Nators proved you can beat an opponent three times in a season, sweeping the Bruisers and sending them packing to the Gunner Cup knockout stage.
Led by his tight end and wide receiver corp the Kavanators removed all doubt about the winner early on Sunday as Gronkowski set the single season tight end touchdown record and Jerod Mayo added 16.5 himself. "We just take it one week at a time", coach Kav stated on eSFL Radio following the win.
The Bruisers d no chance once pussy Kevin Kolb took a tap on the head and left the game early, his -0.3 points and running back Murray's broken ribs were pivotal in the outcome of this one. "Injuries cannot be controlled in this league, actually nothing can be except my starting lineup", coach Templin said afterwards. Tough breaks d bad luck send the Bruisers into the Gunner Cup for week 15.
