The 2013 rules for tiebreakers has been deemed inadequate. Therefore, the 2013 eSFL tiebreaker rules are as follows:
To determine playoff spots (non blackjack):
A. If two teams are tied for a playoff spot the playoff spot will be determined by:
1. Head to Head
2. If step 1. is tied than Points fielded on the season will be used
3. If step 2. are the same use division record
4. If step 3. are the same use the BEST WHAT IF VERSUS EVERYONE EACH WEEK
5. If step 4. are the same use the BEST WHAT IF VERSUS WEEKLY AVG SCORE
6. If step 5. are the same use the BEST WHAT IF VERSUS SEASON AVERAGE SCORE
7. If step 6. are the same use the MOST POINTS SCORED BY DEFENSE
8. If step 7. are the same use the MOST POINTS SCORED BY OFFENSE
9. If step 8. are the same use the MOST POINTS SCORED AGAINST
10. If step 9. are the same use the POWER RANK
11. If step 10. are the same use the VALUE RANK
12. If step 11. are the same use most points fielded in week 2.
13. If step 12. are the same the team with the lowest (1 is highest, 14 is lowest) draft position earns the playoff spot
B. If more than two teams are tied for a playoff spot(s):
1. Using points fielded on the season, the two lowest points fielded teams (of the tied teams) will be judged against each other using HEAD to HEAD. The loser of this tiebreaker is eliminated. Return to step B1 to break remaining ties until all playoff spots have been determined. If two teams remain and only one playoff spot needs to be filled use procedure A. to break the tie.
2. If B1. is tied use steps 2 through 13 in procedure A. to eliminate a team. When two teams remain use procedure A. to break the tie.
