Pardue And The "Underdog"

By ROB MADMANEE

EGYPT —
Michael Vick earned himself a starting job by being — of all things — a dog slayer.

Vick will take over as the Pardue Bruisermakers No. 1 quarterback, coach Ron Pardue said Monday, a day after he posted 44.94 points and led his team to a league high 216.64 points.

"When someone is playing at the level Michael Vick is playing, you have to give him an opportunity," Pardue said. "This isn't about us drafting Kevin Kolb to play, we are talking about Michael Vick as one of the best quarterbacks in the eSFL right now."
Fans of the Bruisermakers have assigned Vick the nickname "Underdog", and it sure fits. "I think his play has even exceeded expectations over the last two weeks," Pardue said.

The Bruisermakers are off to another great start, which has become a custom for them. "We have to find a way to get through the playoffs, win some big games, otherwise this will be another season like all the others," Pardue said. After a 6-8 season in the teams first year, Pardue has led his squad to a 33-20 regular season record. In 2006 his team started 6-0 but won only 2 of the last 7 for an 8-5 mark. During the 6-0 start he was accused of possessing and using a time machine to aid in lineup setting. "Thats all bullshit, someone found a penis pump in my apartment and submitted it as evidence of a time machine device" he said. The following season he led the Bruisermakers to an unbelievable 12 straight wins to open the season. Unfortunately, the Bruisermakers lost the final game of the campaign, then followed that up with another in round one of the playoffs. Both losses were at the hands of the D Crownholders. "This is our year, I believe that this is the year of the Bruisermakers to win a Ballistic Bowl", Pardue said.
With Vick the "underdog" at the helm, the Bruisermakers just may take the title in 2010!
