2010 ESFL Insider, Week One

By: Josh Perdew, ESFL Insider Correspondent

Pardue Bruisermakers Vs. D Crownholders:
All Time Reg Season Head to Head- Crownholders lead 4-2

Last Meeting: Week 13 2009, Pardue 173.32 -- D 160.38

Pardue will come out on fire in this one. D Crown should get a monster game from quarterback Favre but no help from anyone else on this team. Pardue will be led by Frank Gore’s 28 points. Pardue wins 163 – 119

Zima Ruskies Vs. Boot Hill Balut:
All Time Reg Season Head to Head-Rhodes leads 5-3

Last Meeting:Week 12, 2009- Balut 156.1 -- Zima 149.8
The traditional Zima Rhodes week 1 matchup returns after  skipping a year in 2009. Zima will look for a monster game from Drew Brees on Thursday night. He should be able to get 34 points on an aged defense like Minnesota. Boot Hill is looking for #1 pick Aaron Rodgers to lead the league at the QB spot and put up a nice 38 points. The QB’s on both of these teams are all we can really talk about as the rest of both teams are mediocre at best. The Fight’n Balut pull out a close victory over Zima. Boot Hill wins 147-141

Frost Flurries Vs. Temps Texas Boys:
All Time Reg Season Head to Head- Temp leads 7-2

Last Meeting:Week 10, 2009- Frost 161.92 --Temp 125.52

Frost gets a solid start from Adrian Peterson vs New Orleans weak defense on Thursday and jump out to an early lead. Temp will make a comeback late and spring a victory led by Peyton Manning (34 points) and Patrick Willis (21 points). Temp wins 168-149

McKinney Rednecks Vs. Viall Vigilante:
All Time Reg Season Head to Head- First Meeting

Last Meeting: Never
Most folks in this league would take McKinney all day in this matchup, but not here. I think Viall gets the edge here and Rhodes creates another “real men of genius” commercial for McKinney. Viall’s Ted Ginn scores four touchdowns in his 49er debut and drops 48 points on McKinney. Viall wins 179-155

Whitmore’s Workhorses Vs. Texan Bruisers:
All Time Reg Season Head to Head- Whitmore leads 2-0

Last Meeting: Week 14, 2009, Playoffs-Texan 162 -- Whitmore 135.9

Whitmore’s Joe Flacco will lead his team in scoring with 28 points and Steven Jackson will drop 24 points but it won’t be enough to slow down the Texan Bruisers Andre Johnson. Johnson will be the top receiver for the opening week with a 14 catch, 224 yard, 3 TD performance that will crush Whit to pieces. Johnson will drop a 50 plus point game and the Bruisers cruise to victory. Texan Bruisers win 157-124

 Fields Fanatix Vs. Kav’s Kavanators:
All Time Reg Season Head to Head- Fields leads 3-0

Last Meeting: Week 11, 2009, Fields 175.92 -- Kav 174.22

Kav will get good production from his starting QB Jay Cutler and a nice 35 point performance but Ray Rice will get shut down by the Jets defense and score a season low 11 points. Fields will get solid games from both Brady and MJD with 31 and 26 points respectively and knock Kav out of this one. Fields wins 155-128

GAME OF THE WEEK:

Perdew Pulverizers Vs. GMAN:
All Time Reg Season Head to Head-First Meeting

Last Meeting: NA
This game will be high scoring and very little defense as these high powered Appalachian division teams look to beat the piss out of each other. Gman comes in with a much better lineup, but Perdew gets solid games from every position. Marshall and Fitzgerald get 22 each and Rivers throws for 28 points. GMAN gets a nice 47 point game out of Chris Johnson but no help otherwise. Perdew wins this shootout 169-165
