Rhodes wins Standout Bowl I

Rhodes wins Standout Bowl I

The eSFL II might not have had the following as it's parent league eSFL does, but for one person it was the greatest thing since the invention of the car. Team Middle Finger U ended the football season as eSFL II champions ending a four week season that was really never in doubt.
FINAL STANDINGS

The U started the season off with a bang in week one by opening a large cushion between the rest of the pack. Calvin Johnson posted 45.1 and Drew Brees added 42.64 to put the team in first place, a spot they would never relinquish. In week two Drew Brees returned with his final performance of the season and scored 49.58 points and tight end Vernon Davis made his season debut by throwing in 37 points. Not to be overlooked was the play of defensive back Lardarius Webb who contributed 26. 173 points for the week gave the team a two week total of 298.22, what turned out to be only 20 points away from the required score to beat out the second place TD's-N-Beer unit.Week three proved just as fruitful as the previous two had for the frontrunners, scoring a week top score of 109 points and all but ending any hope held by the competition. Vernon Davis led the team with 26 and Frank Gore made his impact on the league with a respectful 19.Going into the final week all competition had lost interest, thrown in the towel, and went home without a word of encouragement or discouragement. The U pounded the league into submission in weeks one through three and the final week was nothing but a requirement. It turned out to be the only week the U wasn't the high score leader for that week, but the damage had already been done and it was of little consequence. TD'S-N-Beer led the week with 73 points but finished in second over 100 points short of a championship. The first ever eSFL II season might not have been the most exciting fantasy football event in history, but for coach Rhodes it was a nice touch to a tough eSFL season in which his team failed to make the playoffs with an 8-6 record.

eSFL Newsletter-22 Jan 2012

Today is the eSFL's first weekly newsletter, it will provide info to members and team owners of important dates, upcoming events, website changes/enhancements, eSFL Radio air times, and more. Owners and members are encouraged to provide feedback on the info along with suggestions.

The eSFL commissioner site has changed dramatically in both appearance and content.
Each 2011 team owner has been registered as a member of the commissioner web site. You do not need to register again!  If you visit the page without logging in you will not enjoy the sites full potential. You can log in using the first part of your team name and the same password you use on the official site to set your lineup, waive, add drop, etc.. The user name does not contain any special characters so leave them out. For example, the Temp's Texas Boy's will use the user name of Temps and the same password he uses on the official site. Kav's Kavanators would use the user name Kavs and the same password he uses on the official site, so on so on. If you cannot log in send me an email, you can log in as Guest with the password Guest until I correct the issue for you. However, logging in as Guest has restrictions on the page and will not display the medals for your team of course. Once you have logged in with your user name and password you can edit your info as you wish. Avatars, addresses, security, photos, user name change, etc.. I ask everyone to restrict the user name to 12 letters/numbers so the page layout can hold the name when viewing who is online.
Once logged in you can view the calender for upcoming events such as draft dates, eSFL Radio program dates, etc.. Also, feel free to use the CHAT BOX and take the polls on the right column of the page.
At the top of the Page in the links section you will find a link titled WRITE NEWS, anyone who logs in can write news and info and it will be placed on the eSFL commissioner site front page once the commissioner has moderated it.
The address of the commissioner site has changed from www.estandoutleague.com to www.estandoutleague.com/eSFL
Note the eSFL at the ending of the URL. The reason for the change was to implement the new site as a PHP site rather than strictly html and to add additional pages under the estandoutleague domain. So, now under estandoutleague.com you may find a fishing site as www.estandoutleague.com/fishing
In making this change we will soon be adding the site www.estandoutleague.com/eSFL2 to accommodate a commissioner site for the new eSFL playoff league named eSFL II. The site will be similar to the original eSFL site and will serve as a way to keep history and other data separate from the eSFL. For those unaware of the eSFL II, it is a playoff fantasy league that we started this year that has 7 teams. It is a total point league and we draft before the playoffs on eSFL Radio. That live event was entertaining to say the least and was a hi lite of the season thus far. To view the current standings and data of the league go to http://www.fantasyleaguemanager.com/playoffs/esflelim/index.php
As far as the new commissioner web site goes, there are many changes that I think are all positive. First and foremost, the history section has been cleaned up and made easier to navigate. The whole purpose for the commissioner site is history so that was the first step. I would like to point out team pages are in work and at this time about one team page per day is updated. When you go to a team page there are two quick ways to know if you are viewing updated info: the first way is to check the date at the top of the page. If it is anytime after December 2011 it is likely current. The second way is the format and layout of the page. If the layout has the award medals and organizational value on the right hand column of the page it is likely current. Finally, if you scroll down to the area that shows info about each season 2011 will be complete if it is current. If a page is considered current and you see errors or missing ADVANCED MEDAL SYSTEM (AMS) awards you believe you are entitled to please let me know.
Speaking of the AMS, you will notice when you view an updated team page a row of medals on the page. The medals represent what that team owner has achieved and it relates directly to the organizational value formula that can be viewed by following the link above the medals. There is also a link below the medals and on the commissioner site that will show the precedence of medals and their value. To view each medal details follow the link on the commissioner site ORGANIZATIONAL AND MEDAL VALUE under the MEDALS link at the top of the page. This medal system was incorporated to provide certain incentives to owners for accomplishment and also provide an easy and quick view of where each team stands as far as success in the league over the teams history.
So, the fantasy football season is over for those not participating in the eSFL II playoff league, but you can enjoy the eSFL all year by going to the commissioner site and psoting news, chatting, viewing upcoming events on the calander, and try to earn AMS medals.
Let me know what you think about the new site and if you have any suggestions. There are still a few dead links on the site but those pages are in work. Some of the pages may still open in a new window when you click the link, but most are scheduled for rework to have them open in the same window on the commissioner site.
And finally, the historical records and coach wins section is scheduled for updating once all team pages are complete.
Look forward to hearing fromm all you guys soon, and if you want removed from the newsletter mailing list let me know.

Ballistic Bowl XII Recap-2011

The "Kid" can now call himself the first Igama to win a fantasy football championship in the entire world. J. Igama hung on tight all year, and over the past six weeks
he was able to edge out a very formidable Global Division opponent in the Pardue Bruisermakers to win the eSFL championship.
It's been 20 weeks of trash talking, bruised egos, upsets, underdog jostling and keen coaching. In the end, it was coach Igama who got the most from his players when it counted.
It's only right that these two gave us a close score in the finals — no one wants to see the trophy won in a blowout. Not quit up to the drama that the first two rounds of this years playoffs, but this game was still good old-fashion drama.
Six weeks ago, Igama was only able to muster 123 points and his team didn't exactly give anything to write home about other than Nate Washington's 32.5  fantasy points. The team lost their seventh game of the season and were two games below .500 and fighting for a Blackjack playoff spot. However, quarterback Matt Ryan and running back Arian Foster warmed up, how things changed!
The Pardue Bruisermakers are known as winners around these here parts. A playoff team nearly every season and one looking for payback after last seasons upset loss to the Whitmore Workhorse in Ballistic Bowl XI. The season started off slow and injuries mounted up week after week, but coach Ron demonstrated how a winner responds by finishing 8-6 and two miracle playoff victories. In Ballistic Bowl XII his misfortune remained as starting quarterback Tony Romo took two snaps and sit the rest of the game with a hand bruise. This time the MFIC couldn't overcome the shit luck and became the only team in league history to lose two straight Ballistic Bowls.
Ballistic Bowl XII will be remembered as the one that got away from the Global Division and for the Appalachian, well it was a rookie owner who held onto the league crown for the division.
Igama made no spectacular coaching moves in this one, starting what got him there. Led by Arian Foster and Matt Ryan the team overcame a less than stellar outing by their feared defense which only scored 35 total points. It was enough with the Romo injury and Foster was named the game MVP.

The Bruisermakers fell in the title game for the second straight year but this one is surely one that slipped away. As mentioned, quarterback Romo all but eliminated any hopes of a win with his zero points and hand injury. Coach Pardue made many wonderful coaching moves this season and was bashed the week before for sitting Romo in favor of Tebow, a move that nearly cost his team the division title. But had Pardue made the same move this week he would have won his first eSFL championship and certainly been labeled the greatest coach in history.
