Week 11 ESFL Insider

By Bruce Fields

Week 10 in the ESFL didn't turn out any big surprises. The teams that should have won, won. However, with playoff implications on the line each win is critical. The Global Division teams are fighting tooth and nail. With three teams knotted up at 5-6, the last playoff spot may come down to tiebreaker system.

The Appalachian Division playoff race will also be close. The Pulverizers are looking to win out and hope along the way that the Kavanators or Fanatix falter. The Kavanators have been on a tear as of late and I don't foresee them loosing another game. Therefore, the Pulverizers need some help from the Fanatix if they have any chance of making the playoffs.

Now let's take a look at this weeks matchups, brought to you by:

Pulverizers VS G Man

The Pulverizers are looking for a big game from Phillip Rivers. That alone will not be enough. He will also need solid production from his RBs. G Man will be looking to ride the coattails of Chris Johnson and Jermaine Gresham. God knows that Derek Anderson isnt going to get it done. I predict the Pulverizers to pull out a convincing win: 162-114.

Vigilante VS Kavanators

As of late, the Kavanators have proved that they are a force to be reckoned with! They are solid in every position. Ben Shitburger could prove to be the biggest surprise. Look for big games from Ray Rice and Desean Jackson. I dont see anything positive from the Vigilante squad. Therefore, my prediction is Kav wins in a landslide: 184-97.

Workhorse VS Bruisermakers

Whitmore is just doing enough to linger around. His team has potential to put up big numbers each week, but they have been inconsistent. The only consistency on this team seems to be Joe Flacco. You can expect that to continue. Pardue on the other hand has a great team. He has the best record and has scored the most points in the league. I expect Michael Vick to come down from his high and join the rest of us here on earth. Roddy White will continue to impress and provide invaluable production. Look for Vick to lead the Bruisermakers into a dogfight this week but I give Whit the edge 157-150.

Crownholders VS Rednecks

The Crownholders have all but given up. I will keep this short and sweet. Rednecks win in a landslide 177-84

Ruskies VS Flurries

Zima is coming off an embarrassing win last week by edging out G Man 113-111. You can expect more of the same this week. Matt Forte will have a horrible game and Drew Brees will throw 3 interceptions. Antonio Gates will be the only player keeping Zimas head above the water. Frost will get big numbers from Miles Austin and Adrian Peterson and take down the Ruskies 142-124.

Games of the Week:
Brought to you by:

Global Division

Balut VS Texas Boys

Both teams are looking to keep their playoff hopes alive. The ol ball coach will look to reach into his bag of tricks and pull out a victory. He will need a lot of help from Aaron Rodgers and Reggie Wayne. Temp can expect good games from Peyton Manning, Peyton Hillis, and Anquan Boldin which will result in a victory over the Balut: 149-128

Appalachian Division

 Fanatix VS Bruisers

Early in the season the Bruisers handed the Fanatix their first loss. Now both teams are fighting for a lead in the division. I will also keep this one short and sweet. Fanatix must win and will win: 147-131.

eSFL Insider, week 10, 2010

After a Very interesting week 9, and Teams setting the pace

for the playoffs, we have reached week 10. Four weeks remain untill the playoffs

are begin.

Week 10 Matchups:

 Kavanators VS Pulverizers

With chad Henne getting the late week benching and Phillip Rivers

on a bye week, The Pulverizers are in trouble. Look for big

things from Big Ben and Desan Jackson. The Kavantors begin their

march at the playoffs with a nail biter.

Kavanators 169 Pulverizers 161

Fanatix vs Vigilanties

After a pathetic week 9 and a beat down, the fanatix look to bounce

back this week. MJD is back in the lineup and ready to go. The winless Vigilanties almost

pulled off a win last time vs Fanatix and I feel they have figured

out the key. Look for Randy Moss to show off his stuff with his new team

and lead Vial to his first win of the 2010 season.

Vigilanties 155 Fanatix 141

Workhorse vs Brusiers

Joe Flacco will put up big numbers in this game of the "lucky as shit teams",

with both teams atop the division with a pathetic  "points for",

the Bruisers will continue to put up low numbers with the Knox/Washington

combo, except this time it will be too low!

Workhorse 112 Bruisers 99

G MAN Vs Zima ruskies

CJ2K is back in the lineup amd Best is set to run wild against the worst rushing defense

in the league, I expect a 75pt combo between these two while Zima plans to start a group of weak

WR's. CJ2k and best are just too much this week, enough said!!

G Man 142 Zima ruskies 119

Pardue vs D Crownholders

This is a matchup of good vs bad! Pardue is a beast and his team is meshing to well

to beat on the home stretch. The WR core of Pardue is too much for anyone to handle

and I see them tossing up close to 100pts combined. For D crownholder look for Cedric Benson

to have a big day and the D crownholder defense to put up big numbers, but not quite get the job

done.

Pardue 192 D crown 133

Temps Texas Vs Rednecks

This is gonna be a good game. I see Foster running wild in the week of the RB's

and I see ochocinco finaly showing up to play as well, But unfortunaly they have to

play against a tuff Peyton Manning and 2010 phenominon Payton Hillis.

Temp wins with ease and looks to gain control of a playoff spot.

Temp 167 Rednecks 120

Lastley we have our game of the week:

Boot Hill Balut VS Frost Flurries

This one is for all the marbles folks, if Boot Hill loses his

season is over. RB Blount has been big and will continue to be,

Josh Freeman will get cood numbers filling in for the bye week Rodgers, and Reggie Waynes will perform as he does every week. Carson Palmer will self destruct when T.O. starts drawing the double coverage and Miles Austin is begining to show the effects of not having Tony Romo tossing him the ball!! Boot Hill remains alive!!

Boothill- 137 Frost-130

eSFL Insider, Week 9, 2010

ENJOY LIFE!
There are a lot of dead people who wish they had.........

This week the eSFL nation is in for a treat as Coach Pardue of the Bruisermakers will join us and discuss team issues, last weeks games, and provide keen insight into what to look for in this week’s matchups.

---By eSFL insider reporter Ines Sainz---

Ines: Coach first of I would like to say what an honor it is to conduct this interview, I have to start off by

asking do you think these pants make me look fat???...

Coach: UM…………Um………… why don’t we talk football?

Ines: I guess if you would rather do that.. Could you tell me about last week’s game with the McKinny Rednecks?  WOW it’s been reported that that was the closest game in eSFL history.

Coach: That ended up being a nail biter. The bottom line is we had 4 players that combined to total 1.5 points, you don’t deserve to win games with that type of production.

Ines: Do you see your team having a letdown this week after that performance?

Coach: I don’t believe so, I cut some of the rift raft WRs that were on the roster. I think that lit a fire under the rest of the team. No position is safe, if you don’t perform you don’t belong on the roster. C’mon, 3 Wr and just 1 catch between them.

Ines: What about your QB situation?

Coach: Well we are ecstatic to have Mike Vick back. We are just hoping he is fully recovered from his injury. Luckily Stafford stepped it up last week , so we are looking strong at the position for the rest of the season, barring further injuries of course.

Ines: Frank Gore will not suit up this week does that concern you?

Coach: Frank has been our most consistent player, we are going to get him some rest and get him ready for the championship run. The rest of the team is ready to throttle it up this week.

Ines: you sound confident that you will make the play-offs, and play for the championship.

Coach: I think I have built a solid team, but we still have five tough games ahead, I feel we need to win at least three of those to lock down a spot in the playoffs.

Ines: We’ll let’s talk about this week’s matchups:

Ines: You get Temp’s Texas Boys this week.

Coach: The Boys have fallen on bad luck losers of 4 consecutive games. Peyton Manning will have to carry the team this week as DeAngelo Williams, Joseph Addai , Derrick Mason and Donald Driver are all injured. His defense is looking solid this week, even without Patrick Willis in the lineup. I think this may be close…… at halftime anyway, but in the end I don’t think the Boys will be able to keep up.

Bruisermakers 150 - Boys 125

Ines: Lets’ look at action in the Appalachian Conference, first up, Fields Fanatix Vs. Perdew Pulverizers

Coach: Unfortunately I haven’t followed this conference too closely, yet it looks as though the Fanatix are only one game out of first place. The team has an impressive 6-3 record. I think Tom Brady will continue to be just average, his RB tandem of Tolbert and Michael Bush are nothing special, 2nd and third string on most teams. The bright spots for the team will be his WR and Def. I see T.Owens and Braylon Edawrds getting a ton of targets, if they can only catch them. The Fanatix D is a lock for 60 points this week.

The Pulverizers come into the matchup at 4-5 and really needing a victory to keep their playoff hopes alive. I think Phillip Rivers will have his best game of the year this week, he’ll drop 40 points. Also returning to the line-up are L.McCoy and J. Maclin, both players should easily put up 25 points. His receiving corp as a whole are looking great. I feel an upset this week

Fanatix 130 – Pulverizers 175

Ines: What about those G Man and Kavanators

Coach: I think this game will be a lot closer than many are expecting it to be. The G-Man will not have the services of Chris Johnson this week and will be relying on Ryan Matthews and J. Best to carry the team. You just have to wonder which one will be injured first. The team has also decided to start QB Derek Anderson this week. Maybe being benched for the past few weeks gave Anderson time to think about his glory year a few years back. I don’t think he returns to form.

The Kavanators get Ray Rice and DeSean Jackson back. The team looked really lost last week without them only putting up 99 points in their losing effort. I think Rice will get on track this week he puts up 40. Unfortunately Ronnie Brown is probably better left on the bench. The WR group looks good on paper but I don’t see any big performances this week. Again this will be a close one. I think it will come down to who has the better Defense’

G-Man 120 – Kavanators 125

Ines: Talk about having a bad year what about the 0-9 Vigilante? Will they get their first victory this week against Whitmore Workhorse?

Coach: As strange as it might sound I believe it will happen this week. They are catching the Workhorse without their top two RBs S. Jackson and K. Moreno. WR Dieon Branch is banged up. I think Workhorse’s D will keep it close, but in the end I think we will have a 1-9 team.

Vigilante 127 – Workhorse 120

Ines: Let’s talk about this week’s non division game. A team you, for obvious reasons, have no lost love for the D Crownholders, will take on the Texan Bruisers.

Coach: This is the late game, I already have plans to sit back, drink a few, and watch D-Crownholder get their asses handed to them. We have had the worst luck against that team. I’m really enjoying their 2-7 season. It looks like they won’t be around to knock us out of the playoffs his year. I’m guessing Coach Kazima is a Jets fan. Starting Sanchez, LT and Santonio Holmes. There are just not enough balls to go around for any of them to do anything special this week. The Bruisers are bringing the Eli and S. Smith connection this week, those two have nice chemistry going, I see 60 points combined from them. My favorite start of the week has to go to Danny Woodhead. I don’t think this will be a close game at all.

Bruisers 145 – D Crownholder 107

Ines: Two teams you have recently played McKinney Rednecks and Frost’s Furrious Flurries will face each other. Do you think this will be a nail biter?

Coach: I have a feeling this will be the game of the week. These two teams are tough, they don’t give up. We were happy to get one win out of the two weeks. These two teams will most likely be in the playoffs this year. It wouldn’t break my heart to see one of them start a losing streak. I think both of these teams are capable of putting up 180-190 points this week. The Rednecks get Micheal Turner and Tony Gonzales back, those two along with Arian Foster and Marques Colston, who seems to be waking up for the second half of the season, will be too much for A. Peterson and the Flurries.

Rednecks 190 – Flurries 180

Ines: The last match up of the week is a family affair Boot Hill Balut Vs. Zima Ruskies. Do you think Coach Rhodes experience wins this one?

Coach: You have to hand it to coach Rhodes he has managed to hold his up and down team together this year. It was rumored he was seriously considering retirement after our week 5 matchup that we won by 110 points. His team just quit playing. It looks like he has them focus again. I’m not sure what he has in store for Zima this week right now he has A. Rodgers, Reggie Wayne Calvin Johnson and L. Blount all on the bench. It must be a smoke screen to throw Zima off his game plan. The Zima squad is looking strong this week I think Drew Brees, D. Mcfadden and A. gates may be too much for the current roster Balut has starting. If he changes things up it could be close.

Boot Hill Roster A 90 – Zima 147

Boot Hill Roster B 150 – Zima 147

Ines: Coach Pardue I would like to thank you for your times today, are you ready to answer my first question?

Ines: Well what do you think………..

Coach: I think I love Female reporters.

Week 8 eSFL Insider, 2010

By Josh Perdew, eSFL Correspondent

Brought to you by................................

Crisp, Refreshing, and Always on Time for over 100 years

This week, I will take an in-depth look at each division, with team records and

projected playoff seeds. I will follow that up with the weekly preview and

projections.

In the Global Division, the Pardue Bruisermakers have a commanding two game lead

in the division over McKinney Rednecks. At 7-1 and looking like the best team

in the league this year, Pardue has his team just 4 wins away from capturing the

Global regular season championship and a number one seed in the playoffs. As

most of you should know, this plays a big part in the other playoff match ups in

round one as the division leader gets the opportunity to choose who they play of

the remaining qualifying playoff teams. McKinney has been solid throughout the

year even when most coaches thought his team might be the fourth or fifth best

team in his division. Congrats, to McKinney, who just took over the 3rd spot in

eSFL all time wins. Temp’s Texas Boys, Frost’s Furious Flurries and the Zima

Ruskies are all tied in 3rd place overall in the Global division with 4-4

records. Boot Hill Balut, only one game behind at 3-5, could make a run in the

second half of the regular season and push for a playoff spot. Rhodes has

stated many times that he doesn’t seem to have the fire inside to push for

another championship since his unbelievable run back in 2008, yet his team is

just one game from jumping into a tie for a playoff spot. D Crownholders, the

defending champions of the league, have fallen off with a pathetic 2-6 record

and the lowest points scored in his division.

I would have to assume that Pardue is virtually locked in to one of the four

available playoff spots and is the leading candidate for the Ballistic Bowl

Championship as well as the Global Division title. McKinney should be the

second seed. Zima should finish the season at 4-2, and sit in the third seed.

Frost and Temp should finish the season at 3-2 and head into the last regular

season game against each other with the winner taking the final seed and

knocking the loser into the Gunner Cup.

In the Appalachian Division, the three way tie is still in effect with Fields

Fanatix, Whitmore Workhorses, and the Texan Bruisers all sitting with 6-2

records heading into this week. As these teams do not play each other this

week, they could head into next week with the same scenarios. Fields has put up

the most points of the three, and the Bruisers have put up the least. Kav’s

Kavanators are lurking behind with a 4-4 record and the most points scored in

the division. The Perdew Pulverizers sit on the outside of the playoff picture

with a 3-5 record. Gman, whom started the season 0-5, has rallied of late and

is sitting at 2-6 and not out of the playoff picture just yet. He needs some

help, but could still sneak in. Viall Vigilantes remain the bottom feeders in

the division and Coach Viall is still searching for the team’s first victory of

the season. Viall is 0-8 and is just two losses from being eliminated from

playoff contention.

Fields has to be the favorite at this point with his high scoring offense and

league accomplishments to win the Appalachian Division title and represent the

division in the Ballistic Bowl. Many have stated that the Whit Workhorses and

Texan Bruisers are both overrated teams with lucky streaks that have held them

atop the division. I think the horseshoe that these teams are holding will be

enough for both teams to be in the playoff picture. That leaves one remaining

spot available in the Appalachian and Kav and Perdew will probably fight for it

till the last regular season game. Kav currently has the position by a game,

but Perdew will not go down without a fight. Kav should finish out the regular

season with a 3-3 record and an overall record of 7-7. Perdew should finish the

season at 4-2 and have the same record of 7-7. Perdew will be eliminated from

playoff contentions due to the massive amount of points the Kavanators have put

up this season. Gman will fall two games out with a 5-9 overall record and

Viall will not win a game this season and become the first team in the history

of the eSFL to go winless.

With only six games left, each game could make or break whether a team gets in

position for a playoff run or ends up fighting it out for the Gunner Cup title.

The Gunner Cup format looks to be the toughest road this league has ever seen

with the possibilities of winning your game in the post season match ups but not

advancing with high enough points scored. The Ballistic Bowl qualifiers that

lose in the playoffs also jump down into the Gunner Cup each week after a loss.

I personally like this format and if you are victorious in either playoff

bracket, there should be no doubt that you are truly a great team and general

manager. I would like to applaud the Commissioner for putting together this

highly competitive league and such challenging playoff brackets.

Week 8 Preview

Pure Female Lion Piss Soda
From the Appalachians in West Virginia, USA

Non-Division Match up

Frost Flurries vs Kav’s Kavanators (line: Kavanators by 20)

Both of these teams have solid running games. The problem for Kav is his best

RB is on a bye this week with Ray Rice. I think Frost has the better WR corp

and defense this week. I couldn’t imagine Deangelo Hall dropping another 50

point bomb. Frost gets solid production across the board and Kav’s WR’s come

back down to earth. Frost will get 34 from Adrian Peterson and he will be the

difference. Frost 146 – Kav 132

Texan Bruisers vs Viall Vigilantes (line: Bruisers by 5)

Texan Bruisers seem to be the luckiest team in the Appalachian division this

season. He won one game with 86 points. Viall is winless yet hungry for a

win. Viall was interviewed earlier today and stated that his team still has the

opportunity to win out, finish the season at 6-8 and sneak in the playoffs. I

know in this league anything can happen, but I am sure the odds are not in his

favor. His team suffered severely in the draft, but has made some good

acquisitions throughout the season to try to better themselves. I would like to

recognize Viall with a tremendous play last week with Ryan Fitzpatrick starting

against the always stingy Baltimore defense. Well played. If you get that kind

of production again this week from him, you could possibly pull off the upset

and earn your first win of the season. Unfortunately for you Viall, I do not

see that happening. Andre Johnson and Rashard Mendenhall will be the top

scorers in this match up with 27 each. Bruisers 145 – Viall 125

Gman vs Fields Fanatix (line: Fields by 28)

Fields gets lucky again this week with Gman hurting at QB. Tony Romo went down

last week with a shoulder injury and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. Rumor has

it, Gman has some QB trade offers on the table, but no moves have been made just

yet. Chris Johnson should return to stud form this week against the Chargers

and Jason Witten should lead Dallas in targets this week against Jacksonville.

Fields has too much offense for Gman to keep up with as Tom Brady and Wes Welker

get back on track and lead him with 28 each. Fields 144 – Gman 128

* * *Appalachian Division Game of the Week * * *

Whitmore Workhorses vs Perdew Pulverizers (line: Perdew by 3)

Perdew seems to always be in the division game of the week as teams continue to

put good numbers up against him each week. At 3-5, he is desperate for a win

this week versus Whit to keep hope that his team could possibly sneak into a

playoff spot. Whitmore has been producing good points scored each week and

should give Perdew all he can handle. Steven Jackson and McNabb should lead

Whit with 25 each and Davone Bess will get 20. Perdew gets solid games from

Philip Rivers and Brandon Marshall, but the defense that scores the most will

win this tight ball game. Whitmore 154 – Perdew 150

DCrownholders vs Boot Hill Balut (line: Balut by 10)

This battle has the 2008 and 2009 champions squaring off for the last place spot

in their division. Both of these teams have trophies at home and both of these

squads have garbage in their lineups. Boot Hill welcomes Reggie Wayne and

Calvin Johnson back with open arms after last week’s pathetic WR production.

Coach Rhodes suffered bye week blues with three WR’s and one TE making a total

of 4 catches last week. DCrown will get good games out of LaDainian Tomlinson

and Cedric Benson, but Boot Hill lays the smack down on this young pup with

Aaron Rodgers, Wayne, and Johnson dropping 30 points each on his ass. Balut 169

– Dcrownholders 125

Pardue Bruisermakers vs McKinney Rednecks (line: Bruisermakers by 18)

Many folks would say that this is the game of the week in this division, but not

here. This game should be close and very high scoring, but from a playoff

standpoint, both of these teams should be a lock. Pardue has been on fire all

season. He won one of the closest games in history last week 191.94 to 191.58

over Frost. Both of these teams have big playmakers and this game will probably

be the highest scoring game of the weekend. McKinney is lead by Arian Foster,

Chad Ochocinco, Kenny Britt, and Matt Schaub. Pardue brings Frank Gore, Jamaal

Charles, Matthew Stafford, and Aaron Hernandez to the field. McKinney will win

this game due to the fact that Pardue is missing two of his top WR’s as Nicks

and White are on bye weeks. Rednecks 168 – Pardue 157

* * *Temp’s Texas Boys vs Zima Ruskies (line: Texas Boys by 8) * * *

This game has major playoff implication with these 4-4 teams battling for a

playoff spot in the Global division. The Ruskies come into this game with Drew

Brees, Darren McFadden, and Antonio Gates. Temp welcomes back Peyton Manning

from a bye week and will look to see him shine on Monday night against the

Houston Texans. Both of these teams seem to be suffering from some bye week

blues this week like many other teams. Temp will be without top WR Anquan Boldin

and a few defenders and Zima is without top RB’s Matt Forte and Ahmad Bradshaw.

I think the QB’s of this game are even, the RB’s are favored to Zima and the

WR’s are favored to Temp. TE of course goes to Zima with Gates, but Temp has

the better defense with Patrick Willis. Jared Allen could easily win the game

single handedly with a 50 point bomb for Zima, but it’s highly unlikely. Temp

148 – Zima 145
