Perfect ending to a near perfect season-2011
The 2011 season ended last night and as commissioner of the league I couldn't be more pleased with this seasons outcome. The past few seasons it has been debated whether the best teams in the league won the Ballistic Bowl and who was in the playoffs. This season ended with a perfect standings and in my opinion the best teams are exactly where they should be. If we look at this years POWER RANK we see that the top eight teams have seven playoff qualifiers with number nine gaining a spot. I doubt there are any fans or owners who could provide much of a debate about the playoff teams this season in any division. The Global division turned out to be the mother of all playoff dogfights with four teams finishing in a second place tie at 8-6. The Temp Texas Boy's won their first ever division title with an 11-3 record and will now have the right to select their first round opponent. Crownholder, Pardue, and Zima all qualified for the playoffs at 8-6, the Rhodes Runners did not qualify at 8-6 based on a tiebreaker between he and D that came down to division record. If anyone would argue this isn't the best four teams in the division I would believe they are not basing their opinion on solid analysis tools.
In the Appalachian the playoff teams have been pretty much set for the past few weeks. The Igama team qualified for the final wild card spot with a 7-7 record and eliminated the implication of the new BLACKJACK rule, in which they would have qualified as well. The Perdew Pulverizers won their first division crown with an 11-3 record after a solid 9-1 start. Injuries have hampered the team the past four weeks in which they went 2-2.
Congratulations to all playoff teams and thanks for a great season. All owners performed as professionals this season and the eSFL standard of sportsmanship and fair play was upheld. We did have one team who had trouble setting their lineup and managing their team for most of the season but once again the league presidents and owners stood up and assisted the commissioner in handling the situation. With that said, the McKinney rednecks will be controlled in the Gunner Cup this season by a selected owner. The owner will be selected each week by the commissioner based on the schedule with the division presidents taking priority in the process. Once the Gunner Cup schedule is known the commissioner will identify the controlling owner of McKinney's team and provide them with the password to access the team. The controlling owner MAY NOT drop any players from the roster unless they are on NFL IR, but may sign free agents from the free agent pool as long as the roster does not exceed the current 27 man limit. If the Redneck team wins the Gunner Cup the award of 110.00 dollars will be placed in the league fund and owners will be polled on what it should go towards.
Once again, thanks for a great season and lets keep it up for the playoffs and Gunner Cup!

Tiebreaker Rules changed:2012 Season
This season the league has come to realize the current tiebreaker system was inadequate. Our current system had to be revisited last week to ensure we were prepared for more than two teams in a division being tied for playoff spots. After reviewing the current rules it was determined the league rules were not written to cover tie situations concerning more than two teams. The commissioner then refered to the NFL multi team tie rules and implemented them for this season. After further review that system is deemed inadequate for future seasons. However, I would like to point out that using the new tiebreaker rules that start in 2012, our 2011 playoff teams would have still remained the same. The procedure we used this season was:
The current tiebreaker system will remain in place and will be used If two teams are tied for one playoff spot. It (will be added) (
(Two teams tiebreaker procedure)
K: TIEBREAKERS
(Season Standings) To break a tie for season standings for playoff positioning between two teams: If it is necessary to break ties to determine the playoff teams from each division, the following steps will be taken:
1. Best winning percentage
2. Head-to-Head
4.
4. Most points fielded on the season
5. Best net points in division games.
6. Best `What if` vs everyone (renumbered from 5)
7. Best `What if` vs Season Average (renumbered from 6)
8. Best `What if` vs Weekly Average (renumbered from 7)
9.
10.Best net TDs in all games. (renumbered from 12)
11. Coin Flip (renumbered from (13)
SO, the tiebreaker for standings and playoff spots between two teams will be:
1. Best winning percentage
2. Head-to-Head
3. Best Division record
4. Most points fielded on the season
5. Best net points in division games.
6. Best `What if` vs everyone
7. Best `What if` vs Season Average
8. Best `What if` vs Weekly Average
9.Strength of schedule. (based on winning pct of opponents)
10.Best net TDs in all games.
11. Coin Flip
This season to break a tie between more than two teams we:
1. Head to head sweep
2. repeated process from remaining teams until all playoff spots are filled
3. If two teams are still tied for a playoff spot return to the K TIEBREAKERS section for two teams
4. If more than two teams are still tied we repeated the process.
5. Nothing in place if more than two teams are still tied.
In this seasons method we had as an example:
Temp 10-4
Pardue 8-6
Zima 8-6
D 8-6
Rhodes 8-6
So using the tiebreaker rule for more than two teams we asked, DID ANY OF THESE TEAMS SWEEP EACH OTHER HEAD TO HEAD?
Pardue swept Rhodes 2-0
Zima swept D 2-0
Therefore Pardue and Zima are in.
But we still have one remaining spot left so we go to the two teams that were in the tied group bit eliminated, D and Rhodes.
We use the TWO TEAM TIE PROCEDURE since there are only two teams for one spot.
Head to head-1-1
Best division record-D 7-5, Rhodes 6-6
Therefore D eliminates Rhodes and is in for the final playoff spot.
Next season to break a tie between more than two teams we:
Note: after a team has qualified for a playoff spot the process must return to step one to determine any remaining playoff spots using the remaining teams.
Use the TWO TEAM TIE PROCEDURE (K TIEBREAKERS ) if two teams remain for remaining playoff spot after any step
1. Best division records
2. Best combined record versus all teams tied in the group.
3. Head to head sweep
4. Tie Breaker Formula:
For each week a team scores in these categories they earn or lose the allotted tiebreaker points for a total point value.
a. 0-80 points (Minus 3)
b. 81-90 points (Minus 2)
c. 91-100 points ( Minus 1)
d. 101-124 points (Zero)
e. 125-135 points (1)
f. 136-146 points (2)
g. 148-157 points (3)
h. 158-168 points (4)
i. 169-179 points (5)
j. 180-190 points (6)
k. 191-200+ points (7)
5. Total division points fielded for the season
6. Total points fielded entire season
7. Best "What if versus everyone"
8. Best "What if versus season average"
9. Best What if versus weekly average"
10. Best Power Ranking
11. Best Value Ranking
12. Best YTD Coaching Efficiency
13. Lowest draft order
14. Most seasons in the league
15. Random draw generator
Remember, at any point when a team or teams break the tie, any remaining playoff spots will be determined starting at step one (3 or more remain). If two teams remain and a tie is still required to be broken use the (K TIEBREAKERS )
Using this tiebreaker this seasons playoff teams would have been the same using the 2011 procedure because of division records.

eSFL Insider-Week 13 2011
| MATCHUP PROJECTIONS - Week 13 | ||
Rhodes Runners (8-5, 6-5 division) | 126
| Temp`s Texas Boys (10-3, 9-2 division) | 148 | |
Official Line: Temp`s Texas Boys by 12 GAME NOTES: Temp has clinched a playoff spot. Rhodes is in the playoffs with a win OR Pardue win OR a loss and either Zima / D loss. Head to head regular season these teams are tied 6-6 including Temp's win this season in week seven. PREVIEW: The Runners have lost two straight and have put themselves in position to be knocked from the playoffs. Poor quarterback play, running back play, wide receiver play, and defensive play is all you need to look at for the reasons this team is fighting to get in the playoffs. This week will be no different and if this club does find a way to back into the tournament look for an early exit. The Temp Texan Boy's are cruising into the postseason as the Global division champs and are likely looking forward to week 14 and who they will select as their first round opponent. If the Runners are in the list of options, this weeks game will likely be a preview of round one for Temp. Look for Temp to win this game with wideout Greg Jennings and running backs Helu / Bush. The only chance the Runners have is a 30 point performance from both Allen and Miller on defense.
| Zima Ruskies (7-6, 6-5 division) | 139 | |
| Frost`s Furrious Flurries (1-12, 0-11 division) | 143 | |
Official Line: Zima Ruskies by 30 GAME NOTES: If Zima wins he is in the playoffs or can qualify with a loss if D loses. Frost leads all time reg season 7-6 including a loss this season. PREVIEW: The Ruskies have returned from certain playoff elimination by winning four in a row and five of their last six. With a win they are in and likely will face off against the Pardue Bruisermakers in round one. Frost has been terrible all season and has lost eight straight, able to produce only one win on the season. With a poor performance in 2011 many have forgotten this is an organization with a competent history in the league. Ballistic Bowl winners in 2007 this team has had a rough outing, but expect next year to be another successful campaign. The Gunner Cup title seems out of the reach for the Flurries, but anything is possible. Zima will not be denied this week and will only need half of what he scored last week. Not so fast partner, I'm calling it right now, the Flurries will stun the world and take down the Ruskies and leave their playoff hopes in the hands of the Rednecks beating the Crownholder.
| McKinney Rednecks (6-7, 5-6 division) | 150 | |
| D Crownholder (7-6, 6-5 division) | 150 | |
Official Line: D Crownholder by 23 GAME NOTES: McKinney is 2-3 lifetime vs the Crownholder and lost to them in week five this season. PREVIEW: The D Crownholder has been a perfect example of a team of inconsistency, win a couple lose a couple, win a couple lose a couple. This week they are in a must win situation with there playoff hopes in the hands of a win and help from Temp, Fields, and or Frost. The McKinney club was locked out of league participation earlier this week after performing questionable transactions, dropping six highly regarded players and not making any pick ups. The team has basically been a ghost one since week 5 or 6 and it is a shame considering they likely would have finished in second place in the Global with ownership involvement. Anyway, a win this week would bump the Crownholder from the playoffs and the Gunner Cup will begin, well, for some teams anyway. I have a hard time picking a winner here, as McKinney can beat anyone any week, and the Crownholder are the same. All we can do is watch because in this league nothing would surprise me.
| Fields Fanatix (4-9, 4-8 division) | 147 | |
| Pardue Bruisermakers (8-5, 7-5 division) | 163 | |
Official Line: Pardue Bruisermakers by 30 GAME NOTES: This will be the 4th meeting between these teams in league history, Fields has won two of the previous three. PREVIEW: The Bruisermakers are in win or lose and the Fanatix have a SLIM chance of being an Appalachian BLACKJACK qualifer. However, a win by Pardue eliminates the D Crownholder from the playoffs and backs the Runners in. Pardue has had a season of ups and downs with a lot of injuries. He has found ways to compete and win without several top players available due to those injuries. As the season comes down the stretch it appears he may be getting a few guys back and is a serious contender for the Ballistic Bowl. The Fanatix fans disappointed everyone last week by not showing up and extending the teams league record of 60 straight home sellouts. Poohey on them! The team has been pathetic but still has a chance at the playoffs if they can score 190 plus points more than Igama and three other teams, and have Igama lose. It's over, and a Gunner Cup is the best this team will be able to achieve in 2011. PARDUE wins this one and eliminates the Crownholder from the playoffs.
| Whitmore Workhorse (4-9, 4-7 division) | 89 | |
| Kav`s Kavanators (9-4, 7-4 division) | 143 | |
Official Line: Kav`s Kavanators by 20 GAME NOTES: Whitmore is 7-0 against Kav in regular season play. PREVIEW: What shall we say about this one? Kav is in the Playoffs for the first time in team history and the defending champs need a miracle to make the playoffs. For the Whitmore team to get in the need an Igama loss and must outscore Igama by 130 plus points, AND more. Congrats to the 'nators and good luck in the Gunner Cup for the Ponies.
| Texan Bruisers (10-3, 8-3 division) | 125 | |
| Igama Sweaty Palms (6-7, 6-5 division) | 160 | |
Official Line: Texan Bruisers by 10 GAME NOTES: Texan won the only meeting in history between these teams in week 4. PREVIEW: This is another contest that has playoff implications for both units. The Igama team needs a win to gurantee a playoff spot and the Bruisers need one for a division title. Igama is in the drivers seat for the final Appalachian playoff spot and control their own fate. A win or a loss with a decent point performance and they go to the big postseason in week 14. The Bruisers will conclude another successful campaign this week and look toward the playoffs. Quarterback is their main concern and could be the reason they have a repeat performance of the 2010 playoffs, a loss. This likely will be the exact same teams playing in round one of the playoffs next week.
| Perdew Pulverizers (10-3, 9-2 division) | 130 | |
| Viall Vigilante (1-12, 1-10 division) | 145 | |
