Well we have made it to the halfway point of the season and
some teams are fighting to stay alive for the playoffs while others are already
looking forward to next year’s draft. We
are going to start in the Minor league conference also known as the Nebula.
Going to start in the Quasar division where we have the
Nachman MFers, Fight’n Pollacks and the Money Team. Well let’s go ahead and say that the Money
Team is done and headed to the Gunner Cup, they have no chance at making the
playoffs as unless they get a miracle and that isn’t happening. So let’s talk about the 2 teams that might
actually make the playoffs. The Nachman
were bashed before the season and even after it started but they have proved
they have a team that can at least get in the playoffs led by Luck as they are
the 2nd highest scoring team in the conference. They have a solid RB group and even if they
don’t win this division I still believe they will make the playoffs as the
blackjack. On the other hand the only
way the Pollacks make it is if they win the division because I don’t believe
they have that strong of a team and won’t have enough points to get in with the
blackjack. So the winner of this division
will be Nachman.
Moving on the Orion where everyone went ahead and gave this
division to the Standout team before the 1st game had even been
played. Well this team is weak all
around but still might have a chance if Shady gets on track and if Josh Gordon
can come back and play like he did last season.
At the halfway point Igama is leading the division by 2 games after a
huge win last week against the Rams over both the Stars and Standout. Both teams are 2 games back but I still think
this division is wide open for any of these 3 teams to win it. I don’t think that Igama is going to be the
winner of the division, I hate to say it but I think the Standout team is going
to get their shit together and end up winning this division.
Now to the Helix division where I think the best team in the
conference resides. The Houston Rams
lead the division by just a game after a tough loss last week. They have a defensive player that averages
more points than most of the WRs in the league.
They have 2 great QBs but are a bit weak WR but made a good move getting
Forsett to solidify their backfield.
Also in this division is the laughing stock of the league the past few
seasons but also the winner of the last 2 High 50 weeks Viall. I think the time of making fun of the Viall
team is over as I see this as a playoff team with strong WR play and a decent
RB core. We also have the defending
champs in this league but that is all they will be this year as they won’t be
making the playoffs so not wasting my time talking about them. The winner of the division will be the Rams
and the blackjack will be Viall.
So to recap the Nachman, Standout and Rams are your division
winners with Viall the blackjack winner.
Let’s move on to the Vintage conference and
start in the Virginia division. This
division is lead by the Runners at the halfway mark. Both the Bruisers and Pulverizers are a game
back but both are still alive in the division.
The Pulverizers are counting on the services of Foster who can’t stay
healthy to save his life especially as much as he is being used right now. I think that is Foster won’t make it the
season which means the Pulverizers won’t make the playoffs. On to the Bruisers who have a solid team but
hoping to get Charles back on the track and healthy. This is a balanced team that isn’t great at
any particular position but is solid at all of them. This is a playoff team and they will prove it
by the end of the season, of course I am going to predict my team in the
playoffs. This will be the division that
gets 2 teams into the playoffs and it won’t be the Pulverizers even with their
recent run of high scores.
Now to the Global division where there isn’t much to talk
about because I see this division as already being wrapped up by the Zima
Ruskies even though I don’t see them as a great team. Coach Matt Templin of the Texas Boys has said
on many occasions that his team will be lucky to finish .500 and we agree. And the Fanatix are off to a terrible 1-5
start and not scoring enough points to get the blackjack but if anyone makes a
run for the Ruskies it will be the Fanatix not the Texas Boys.
The final division is the Appalachian which is led by the
Flurries at the halfway mark. The
Flurries are a high scoring unit led by Peyton and Murray but if Murray gets
hurt like Murray always does he could see his season go into shambles, but that is the only way he loses this
division. The Crownholders have a stong
team that has put up a lot of points but not many wins. They have a strong WR core but are questionable
at best at the RB position. The reason
we haven’t mentioned Kav is because his team has no chance at making the
playoffs so not wasting my time talking about them. This division is tough to call but I am going
to stay with the team in 1st at the halfway mark and say the
Flurries win the division.
So to recap we have the division winners as the Flurries,
Ruskies and the Bruisers with the Runners making it as the blackjack team. And just to make a prediction the winner will
come from the Vintage Conference you can take that to the bookies and make you
some money.
Hey I enjoyed that, nice piece Chaz! Appreciate the time and effort man.
