Igama moves back into contention with Kavanators beatdown

Sweaty Palms 189.7 - Kavanators 159.08
Igama Sweaty Palms knocked down an Appalachian power late Sunday evening and moved back into the playoff picture.  Still a win away from .500, Igama has the most points scored of the bottom four teams in the Appalachian division, and would take the blackjack if the season ended today.  Igama scored 138.7 on offense, led by Willis McGahee(32.3) and Matt Ryan(31.5).  Special teams and defense combined for 51 in the victory.  Coach Kav got solid production from newly acquired QB Carson Palmer(28.38) and RB Mike Tolbert chipped in 27.1 in the loss.  The Kavanators were without a few wideouts due to injury(Nicks and Andre Johnson), but losing with 150 plus points is tough to take.  With the loss, the Kavanators could potentially slide out of the playoff picture if a losing streak begins.  The race is getting tight in the Appalachian with five teams fighting for the top four spots.

Frost melts down and gets slaughtered by the Crownholders

DCrownholders 157.18 - Frost 96.6
Frost failed to post 100 points for the third time this season, and remains winless in the Global Division.  DCrownholders throttled Frost behind team MVP Aaron Rodgers with 45.58 points.  Marshawn Lynch chipped in with 24.7 on the ground and DCrown moves back into playoff talks.  Joe Flacco(20.1) was the only player to break the twenty point mark and Michael Turner chipped in 17.7 in a losing effort.  James Harrision was held out of Frosts lineup this week, and it cost him with 8 tackles and 3 sacks.  Although some folks thought this game was over before it started, anything is possible in this stellar league.

Runners take down Rednecks and quietly move to second in the Global

Rhodes Runners 142.04 - McKinney Rednecks 102.44
McKinney failed to post a lineup for the second consecutive week and the Runners took advantage handing the Rednecks a beat down on Sunday afternoon.  Led by QB Josh Freeman(24.24) and another solid defensive performance (39.5), the Runners move up in the Global division and are going to contend for the Global regular season division title.  McKinney, who could have competed and possibly won with the right lineup, is now on the outside looking in at the final playoff spot.  He was led by two solid defensive players in Roman Harper (17.5) and Patrick Willis (17) in the losing effort.

Pulverizers offense continues to produce, takes down rival Fanatix for the season sweep

Perdew Pulverizers 138.32 - Fields Fanatix 86.58
It wasn't pretty, but the Pulverizers found a way to win late on Monday night with the trio of Vick. McCoy, and Forte leading the squad to a victory.  McCoy led the Pulverizers with 25.3 points.  Fields struggles again on both sides of the ball and failed to post 100 points for the second time in three weeks.  Both weak performances came against the Pulverizers this season and the regular season dominance of this rival continues for the Pulverizers.  Fanatix team captain and MVP Tom Brady scored 23.88 and placekicker Connor Barth with 14 points was the only other member to post double digits.  With both team defenses putting up 20 points and special teams nearly even, the game was won by Perdew's offense.  Fields only hope of a playoff spot now lies with the blackjack rule, but he is over 100 points behind the Sweaty Palms who lead that race as well.

Ruskies come back in dramatic fashion, knock off the Pardue Brusiermakers

Zima Ruskies 174.82 - Pardue Bruisermakers 158.96
Nobody likes a bully!  This Global Division battle was a high scoring affair with Zima finally finding production from Chris Johnson and knocked off the very talented Bruisermaker squad late Monday evening.  The Ruskies got a monster performance by Vincent Jackson with 39.1 and Drew Brees chipped in 28.8 points, Ruskies got just enough from kicker Gould to take down the bully.  Pardue got production from everywhere but defense (21.5), and that seem to be the difference.  Romo scored 30.56 and Brandon Marshall chipped in 24.6 in the losing effort.  With the victory, Zima climbs back up the ladder in a very tight Global playoff race.

Texan Bruisers win showdown against cousin, knock off Temp's Texas Boys

Texan Bruisers 138.96 - Temp's Texas Boys 125.98
In a family affair, the Bruisers knock of the Texas Boys for the second time in history. This could be the start of a non-divisional rivalry that I think everyone would like to see every year.  A potential Ballistic Bowl match up as well, this one came down to the wire late Monday night with neither defensive player doing much.  With the game of the week label, it lived up to the hype but the Texas Boys were damaged with bye weeks and this one would have went the other way if not for AP and Stafford on byes.  The Bruisers were led by their running game with Ray Rice (22.4) and DeMarco Murray (24.8) carrying the load.  Temp, who had their number one draft pick on bye, got solid performances from Matt Hasselback (29.18) and Michael Bush (22.8).  The difference in this one was certainly defense but neither was impressive.

With the crowd chanting "Urlacher", Vial gets first win, knock off defending champs Whitmore

Vial Vigilante 140.2 - Whitmore Workhorse 135.2
As projected in the eSFL weekly Insider, this was finally the week for the Vigilantes to prevail.  Bad luck has kept this team from victory more times than not this season, but Big Ben was not to be denied today.  Rothlisburger led the Vial squad with 22.9 points and 39 points combined on the ground from Pierre Thomas and Steven Jackson proved to be enough.  Whitmore, who needed this win, fails to get the job done, and the playoff race tightens up in the Appalachian.  Phillip Rivers led the Workhorse with 38.7 points and Darren Sproles chipped in 21.3 in a losing effort.  LB Brian Urlacher came into the Monday night game needing 9.5 points and accomplished that feat in the third quarter to put the Workhorse away.  Rumor has it, the Vigilantes have officially sold out their remaining games this season, and still have hopes of the blackjack rule potentially getting them to a playoff spot.  Only time will tell.....
