Week 12 Recaps, 2011

Kavanators knock off the Bruisers, have a chance to win the Appalachian Division
Texan Bruisers 93.96 Box
Kav`s Kavanators 128.94
One of the hottest teams in the Appalachian, the Kav's Kavanators took down the division leading Texan Bruisers on Sunday night.  Kav got another monster game from team MVP WR Wes Welker who racked up 31.5 points on an 8 catch for 115 yards and 2 TD performance.  Texan Bruisers got no production from anybody except DeMarco Murray who chipped in 19 points in the loss.  QB issues could haunt this team in the playoffs, but his focus will be on the Igama next week as he tries to close out on top of the Appalachian Division.

Temp's Texas Boys win regular season Global championship, beat up the Flurries
Frost`s Furrious Flurries 130.84 Box
Temp`s Texas Boys 143.94
Texas Boy's are crowned regular season champs in the Global after a victory over bottom feeder Frost.  Temp got a breakout game from Percy Harvin on Sunday afternoon, and that was enough to hold off the Flurries and Lance Moore on Monday night.  Harvin finished with 25.1 points and RB Michael Bush chipped in 22.7 for the Boy's.   Frost got decent production from everyone on his squad, but no breakout performances led him to defeat.  Gunner Cup rounds start in two weeks and this Frost team could make a run for the title.  Meanwhile, the "Temp Train" as he has been calling himself, has a meaningless matchup next week vs the Runners, and will look to steamroll into the Ballistic bowl from there.

Pardue Bruisermakers clinch playoff spot in the Global, smacks Runners
Rhodes Runners 117.16 Box
Pardue Bruisermakers 164.24
Nobody likes a bully, but this Pardue team is heating up when the time is right for a change.  The Bruisermakers, who generally win a majority of games in the regular season and fall apart when playoff time comes around, have started to head up late this season and would like to see it continue into the playoffs.  The Ballistic bowl runner up from last season smacked around the Rhodes Runners on Sunday with Cedric Benson (26.1) and Laurent Robinson (26.9) leading the way.  The Runners got average production from everyone, but left some points on the bench that could have made this game close.  The organization has stated that his team is not good enough to win this season, but they have to win next week or get fortunate enough to slip into the playoffs with some help from other division teams.

DCrownholder can't hold off late charge by the Ruskies, keep Ruskies playoff hopes alive
Zima Ruskies 205.22 Box
D Crownholder 170.88
Dcrown still hasn't locked up the playoff spot with a heartbreaking loss this week against the Ruskies.  D got solid performances from team MVP Aaron Rodgers (29.78) and a defense that was outstanding with a total of 63.5 points and what many would say should have been enough for a victory over big brother Zima.  But in the eSFL, anything is possible and it looks as though the last two playoff teams in the Global will be decided on the last snap of the regular season.  Zima still has a chance to knock the Runners out of the playoff picture with a three way tie for 3rd place in the Global if the records end up the same.  Points fielded will be the tie break and as it stands now, the Runners must win next week to get in or a DCrown or Zima loss would get the job done.  This one is far from over folks as the Ruskies team MVP Drew Brees fired up a monster performance on Monday night and carried this team to victory.  The Crownholders have the weapons to sweep through the Global and make his mark on the league by winning his second championship in three years.  Zima also has the squad that could get the job done and bust up the entire bracket in the Global.  With late season acquisitions of Chris Johnson and Jordy Nelson, this team looks to have a team that nobody wanted to face in the playoffs.  Will the Runners sneak into the playoffs, or will the Crownholder and Ruskies knock him out of the picture?  Only time will tell....

Fanatix gets a late season win over Whitmore, both squads looking for a Gunner Cup run
Whitmore Workhorse 115.42 Box
Fields Fanatix 138.74
In a meaningless game, the Fanatix took down the defending Champs Whitmore in front of a less than stellar crowd.  Many fans were drunk and passed out by halftime, but the record remains in tact as the Fanatix continue to sell out every home game in team history.  Fields MVP Tom Brady dropped another bomb with 43.04 points and we had a Reggie Wayne siting this week as he posted his best game of the year (23.2 points)!  Whitmore got 22.4 points from stud RB Maurice Jones-Drew in the loss.

Sweaty Palms slip past Vigilante, looking to avoid the Blackjack Rule
Igama Sweaty Palms 153.88 Box
Viall Vigilante 142.72
Igama has a chance to quiet the blackjack talks next week with a win, as they slip past Vial this week.  The palms finally got a solid performance by highly drafted QB Matt Ryan with 36.58 points and superstar LB Terrell Suggs chipped in 26 with a three sack performance on Turkey Day.  The Vigilante's look to avoid back to back one game season wins next week and play spoiler to the Pulverizers winning the Appalachian Division.  Almost every coach in this league knows that your team is bad when your kicker leads your squad in points!  Janikowski kicked 27 points on Sunday afternoon in the losing effort.  With a loss next week to Perdew, Vial will end up with a combine two season regular season record of 2-26!

McKinney wins weekly non-division game vs Pulverizers, franchise in jeopardy of a lockout
Perdew Pulverizers 133.3 Box
McKinney Rednecks 139.74
Another meaningless game in terms of playoff berths and records are concerned.  This matchup went as expected as the Pulverizers have been on cruise control for the last 3 weeks after locking up a playoff spot and really have not focused on the field much.  McKinney will be removed from the league at the end of the season, and I have to agree with the decision.  I know that McKinney has been in this league for many years and has competed each and every year, but for some reason, this year his focus has not been here.  He is a good coach and owner and I wish him the best of luck in the future and hope that one day he can redeem himself in the league and come back.
