Week 8 Recaps-2009

Boot Hill Balut 147.1 Perdew Pulverizers 135.3
The Boot Hill Balut won their first game of the season over the tough luck Pulverizers and prevent the opportunity of setting the league record for most consecutive losses.
QB Donovan McNabb led the team with 32.6 and RB Gore chipped in 26.7 to send the Perdew team to a second straight loss and a 2-6 record. They were led by M. Jones Drew who had a wonderful 33.5 points, but the rest of the squad struggled with noone else obtaining 15 points. "Congrats to the Balut, I think both of us are prepared for next season already", Pulverizer head coach Josh Perdew stated afterwards.

Zima Ruskies    125.98       Fields Fanatix    121
The Zima Ruskies remained in the playoff hunt with an upset win over the Fields Fanatix who appeared less then ready to play.
The Ruskies were led once again by DL Jarred Allen who posted 26 points and LaDainian Tomlinson was sighted for the first time this year with a nice 21.4 to ensure the Ruskies had enough. The Fanatix Steven Jackson also had his best game of the year with 28.8 points but his team mates were unable to chip in enough for a win. The win broke a Ruskie 3 game skid while the Fanatix were sent to their first loss in the past four games.

Big `D`    162.68     Frost`s Furrious Flurries    159.22        
The game of the week turned out to be the Flurries Drew Brees taking a late sack and sending the Big D team home with a three point win. Big D's Aaron Rodgers stood toe to toe with Frost's Drew Brees and proved he was just as valuable to his team, scoring 40.38 points in the win. Running Back Matt Forte aslo decided to show up this week, posting 30 points in the win. The Frost team was led by Brees 24.82 but fell short and loss their second straight game to fall to 4-4 on the season.

Texan Bruisers    148.62     Temp`s Texas Boys    115.52            
In the battle of  Templin's the expansion Texan bruisers upset the Texas Boy's for their fourth straight victory and move into a second place tie in the appalachian Division at 5-3. The Bruisers' Michael Turner led the scoring with 24 while the defense threw up 47.

D Crownholder    188.3            Kav`s Kavanators    159.96
The Crownholders put another nail in the coffin of the Global Divivion playoffs  and move into first place. Restricted free agent Chris Johnson proved his value by posting his second 40 plus game of the season and newly acquired quarterback Mark Sanchez added 35. Sanchez was signed off the waiver wire only three days ago by the team. The Kavanators lost their fourth straight game.

Pardue Bruisermakers    157.86   Whitmore Workhorse    92.28 
The once powerful Workehorse lost for the second time in their past three games as Pardue continued to put up high numbers. RB Peterson led the way with 24.6 and teammate Roddy White tossed in 20.8 as the Bruisermakers move to 5-3 with their second straight victory.
