Limited keepers are in place as they were for the 2008 season and beyond. The rules below apply every season until notified otherwise, the years below are for explanation purposes. Owners must use the claim form located on the commissioners site to announce player signings. The link is http://www.estandoutleague.com/freeagent.htm
An eSFL owner may have 100 percent rights to a player they drafted in 2009 for NEXT year (2010) IF:
1. That player was drafted by them in 2009 AND
2. On their eSFL active roster (not IR) for the entire 2009 season AND
3. The player was not used in their 2009 starting lineup AND
4. The player has never played in an NFL regular season game as of the time you drafted him
Basicly, if you draft a rookie NFL player and do not use him in an eSFL game this season, and he was on your roster the entire season, you have rights to that player for next season. To claim the rights of the player for next season, the owner must announce to the league (draft day message chat/board) their intentions prior to the start of the 2009 draft. Owners retain the rights to that player for the 2010 season only. By default at no cost to the owner the player will be their 2009 10th round pick. They may acquire the player via training camp at a cost of 2.00 per day.
