Week 8 eSFL Insider

Prime Time Matchup

Fields Fanatix owner Bruce Fields has his hands full this week when he takes on the the Temp`s Texas Boys. Although this is a non-division matchup, it showcases two of the leagues finest teams. With the surprising play of RB Steve Slaton and the ever consistent performances from TE Jason whitten, the Texas Boys have positioned themselves for another run at a Ballistic Bowl title. The `boys` are at the top of the league in most all statistical categories, including the coveted Power Ranking (32.5). Throw in a remarkeable VALUE RANK of 114 and the only weak spot in this teams armor has been the leagues worst coaching efficiency of 71.4 percent. Throw that out the door because this is often an over abused stat that we think is flawed. The better a teams bench is, the higher opportunity for a low coaching efficiency. The Texas Boys will bring the leagues 3rd best defense and a middle of the pack offensive unit (6th) at the Fanatix. Offensively, the team has struggled on several weeks, but look for the return WR Marques Colston to bolster their attack. With RB Adrian Peterson not in the lineup this week due to his scheduled bye week, Slaton should be able to take up the slack. With the strong armed Brett Favre posed for a huge week, it could be a long day for the Fanatix. The Fields team is equally impressive. This team has the best offensive club in the league and has posted an astonishing 951 points from that unit. WR Andre Johnson leads all WR`s in scoring over the past 4 weeks with 90 points and is a true beast. With the re-emergence of QB Donovan McNabb and WR Steve Smith this may be the best offensive unit in league history. On the other hand, the teams defensive play has been pathetic, posting a flacid 63.9 points for the season. Were it not for the equally inefficient Workhorse`s defense (63.7) the Fanatix would be at the bottom of the league here. Coach Fields has achieved a very respectful 83.3 year to date coaching efficiency, second only to the afor mentioned Whitmore leader. The Fanatix 71.6 VALUE RANKING is 4th best and their POWER RANKING of 28 is the 3rd best in the league. Grab your popcorn folks, this game should be a high score barn burner that you just may see again in week 16.

The rest of this weeks games are rather unremarkable to say the least. Noone cares who wins between Pardue and Tiff, The Purple vs Crownholders event should be an exciting matchup. The People-Eaters probably won`t win 2 more games this season, so we`ll go with the Crownholders. They are better than the `Eaters in the big three of Power Rank, Value Rank, and YTD coaching efficiency. The Frost Furrious Flurries take on the underachieving Big D club. Big D will win this game by 60 points and begin their rise towards a Ballistic Bowl appearence. This team is near the top in mostt statistical categories and holds an unbelievable 106.1 value ranking. The ytd coaching efficiency is the teams weakest area and it is rumored a coaching change may take place without a win this week. Whitmore and Zima have both stepped on their peckers all season, noone wants to watch it again this week. What a pathetic look Zima ownership gets when his team has only 15 points after the early games. Don`t take it so serious bud, you probably are in 5 other leagues and the odds are you can do good in one of them. And Perdew and Boot Hill, uhh, hasn`t Perdew had enough of team owner T. Rhodes beating his ass all summer in The ISPAA fishing league? For some reason guys like this take their ass whoopins hard and often. Problem is when they finally win one it`s like all the others never even happened. They think their shit don`t stink. We will say Perdew wins this week only because the Boot Hill club is the worst 5-2 team in the history of the eSFL. Good luck everyone.
