POST GAME RECAPS WITH INSIDER-Playoffs-Rd 2-2014

Nebula Conference Championship
Houston Rams (8-4) vs Standout Coalition (7-5)

The Nebula Conference Finals brings the top scoring team in the league, the Rams, matching up against the red hot Standout Coalition.  The fan favorite Coalition team, coached by legendary future Hall of Fame coach Ron Pardue, brings a solid core led by Tom Brady, LeSean McCoy, AJ Green, and Josh Gordon.  The Rams feature Drew Brees, Arian Foster, Antonio Brown, and all pro defensive player JJ Watt.  This matchup will come down to the wire, with a hard fought battle being won by the Rams in a close one.  LeSean McCoy will continue to be a major disappointment as a first round draft pick for the Coalition, and the Rams will be dancing into the Ballistic Bowl against the winner of the Vintage Conference final.

The heavily favored Houston Rams (8-4) ended their season in dissapointing fashion for the second straight year with a loss to the league owned Standout Coalition (7-5). The Coalition not only matched the highly touted defense of the Rams but exceeded their output. Led by Tom Brady (29.88) and Mike Evans (20.5) on offense the defensive stars were Justin Houston (19), Morgan Burnett (16), and Harrison Smith (13.5).  Coach R. Pardue was named league coach of the year just two days earlier but when asked about the accomplishment his thoughts were only on the upcoming task at hand, "we have a tough opponent this week, thats all we have, I will wait until the season is over to comment on anything else". This will be Pardue's third Ballistic Bowl appearance.
The Coalition no doubt was the fan favorite and will enter Ballistic Bowl XV with nearly everyone in the world cheering for them.
Vintage Conference Final
Frost’s Furrious Flurries (8-4) vs Rhodes Runners (8-4)

The Vintage Conference Finals will feature a battle amongst QB’s for the ages.  Up and rising fantasy star QB Andrew Luck faces the general, Peyton Manning, for the rights to participate in the Ballistic Bowl.   Lets not make the QB’s the only names to mention in this game, as both teams feature top notch players on offense.  The Runners have a deadly combo with stud wideout TY Hilton along side Luck, with big play potential in Antonio Brown, Emmanual Sanders, and LeVeon Bell.  Look for Greg “the Leg” Zuerlein to potentially play a factor this week in the outcome of this game.  Frost has stud RB DeMarco Murray, along side stud WR’s Josh Gordon and Alshon Jeffery to try to balance the high-powered Runner offense.  He will get some additional help on defense with “the other Brandon Marshall”, Weddle, and Thomas.  Rhodes defense has been sub-par to say the least, and that is a nice way to put it.  Lets just say, if Rhodes expects to make the Ballistic Bowl, he has to see some sort of defensive production this week, or he could be in for a big disappointment.    Both of these teams deserve to be here this week, and both would represent the Vintage conference well, but unfortunately, only one team can advance.  Vegas has Frost as a slight favorite, but nobody would call either winner an upset.  I see the Runners defense dropping another pathetic performance, and his offense won’t be able to overcome.

The Flurries watched the overall 2014 draft choice, star quarterback Peyton Manning score 4 points.  At his postgame presser coach Rhodes pointed out had Manning scored 50 he still would have won, based on the philosophy that his WR Sanders likely would have scored more as well. Coach Rhodes stated the game was decided by all the players and neither team can point to a single player for the reason of outcome.
The Runners started this one off slow, their kicker missed an extra point and two easy field goals for negative points. Their quarterback fumbled and threw two picks. Running Back L. Bell traded a supposed TD to Frost's H. Miller and it looked like Rhodes was beaten. But as fantasy football goes, things went entirely his way from the third quarter on of the early games.
Coach Rhodes will have no fans in the Ballistic Bowl as everyone is surely rooting for the Coalition.
