New Playoff Qualifyer Rules for 2011

Today the league has announced the implementation of the BLACKJACK rule.

In the past, 4 teams from each division qualify for the eSFL playoffs, Div winner and 3 wild cards based on record and tiebreakers. With the Blackjack rule, the fourth playoff spot (3rd wild card) from each division will be based on points fielded IF the fourth place team HAS A LOSING RECORD. In the case of the fourth place team having a losing record the final playoff spot will be awarded to the non playoff (1-3) team in that division with the most points fielded regardless of records. The following is how the rules have been changed to read:

Each division winner and 3 wild card teams per division will qualify for post season play. The 3rd wildcard team in each division must have a winning record or the wildcard spot will be based on MOST POINTS FIELDED between ALL non playoff qualifers in the division. This playoff team will be called the BLACKJACK and records do not matter. If there is a tie between teams using the points fielded it will be broken based on record, division record, non-division record, Head to head, what if's, or a coin toss in that order.
