Ballistic Bowl Division Championships and Gunner Cup Semi’s
The final four is set!!!
Fighting for the Global Division Championship and the right to represent the the only division to ever win in the Ballistic bowl will be the winner of the Pardue Bruisermakers and Temp’s Texas Boys. These two teams both rank in the top five in total points scored with the Bruisermakers ranked 1st and Temp ranked 5th. These teams have also posted the highest points scored in a single game this year as both have eclipsed the 200 point mark for a game. They are the only two squads to post over 200 in a game for the season and both have the potential to put up those numbers again this week. Both teams bring solid QB play, good RB play, balanced WR play, garbage TE’s, and excellent defensive play. If ever a kicker was the difference, now is the time. Matt Bryant vs Josh Brown. I think that Bryant will win the kicking game and lead Pardue to a Ballistic Bowl berth.
I have put together a small overview of this matchup:
GAME OF THE WEEK -
Pardue 167 Temp 162
The Appalachian division championship game shouldn’t be much of a game. Fields Fanatix takes on Whitmore’s Workhorses. Fields looks to overpower the entire division with solid play from every roster spot. This Whitmore coach seems to gets his teams into the playoffs with decent records every year but always finds ways to lose when the money is on the line. Fields is one of the toughest teams each and every year and this team is no exception. Fields is looking for a small piece of history as the only team to ever reach four Ballistic Bowl appearances. I probably shouldn’t share this information, but as eSFL correspondent, it is my duty to announce that Fields has inquired defensive help from Coach Josh Perdew of the Pulverizers. It is a short term deal but details will not be made public. As for Whitmore, he is sticking with his workhorses that have gotten him to this point. The graphic below shows everything a bookmaker would need to know in this one:
Fields should erupt and end all hopes Whitmore has of making his first ever Ballistic Bowl.
Fields 178 Whitmore 138
In the Gunner Cup, 6 teams are battling for the 2 finalist spots. McKinney Rednecks, last week’s favorite to reach the Global Championship game, took a beating from Pardue and got knocked down to face the Texan Bruisers from the Appalachian division. The Bruisers won the Appalachian Division regular season
championship, but fell in round one to Whitmore. It was easy to pick Whitmore in that game since the difficulty of beating one team three times in one season is nearly impossible. The Rednecks were the top scoring team last week with a loss, and the Bruisers dropped a close game with WR Andre Johnson trying hard to make a comeback on Monday Night. McKinney has the more balanced team and should easily knock the Texans out of the running. McKinney 149 Bruisers 109
Zima Ruskies, winning 8 of their last 10 games to make the playoffs, failed to put up enough points to keep pace with the powerful Temp team, will face off against GMAN. GMAN, 5-9 in the regular season in the Appalachian, was the preseason favorite to win the division. Young inexperienced players and injuries destroyed this team and now the Ruskies have the opportunity to finish them off. Zima has an overrated team with little talent at WR, but his defense is very good. GMAN is worse off at WR, and his RB’s have been streaky all season. An MVP performance from leading back Chris Johnson would propel GMAN to the next round, but Zima will take this game with standout defensive lineman Jared Allen.
Zima 142 GMAN 126
Kav’s Kavanators vs Perdew Pulverizers. The winner of this game will advance to the Gunner Cup final and proceed to win the title. Both of these teams have questionable wide receivers and solid running games. The top QB performance should win this game. Rivers has been steady until playoff time and Perdew’s fate lies on his shoulders. Big Ben Rapesherburger has a very favorable matchup and should perform well. The defense of both squads is even, as well as kicker play. Perdew can focus more on defense for Coach Fields next week after he is knocked from the Gunner Cup and unable to defend his title.
Kavanators 158 Perdew 153
Good luck to all.....BASTARDS!
