Folks, it has finally happened! After 10 grueling games, the Fighting Pollacks have won not a game, but 2! Congratulations to their owner and coach, keep on Fighting!
As promised, this week we will take a look at the East division. What a race we have here. Only 3 games seperate the scrubs from the cream, and this division is anybodys who steps up and claims it. The defending champions have stepped it up a pace and look to be the team to stop here. They have quietly put up the most points in the league, and worked their way into contention with several savvy trades and free agent acquasitions. Fellows, don't let these guys in the playoffs. They are tourney tough and it could be a repeat champion if someone doesn't step up and take it from the Reapers. The Fanatix have the divisions best record, but probably not the best team. They have somehow won when they had no business doing so, and it is time they take a leap forward and start scoring some points. Last week they showed signs of this, but they must do it the remainder of the season to hold on for a division crown. The surprise of the entire league has been the expansion Rebels. They have put up decent numbers and could be the dark horse out of the East. They may have hurt themselves with a few questionable trades, but the playoff hunt is in their hands. Win out and they are in. They have a huge hurdle to hop, trying to become the first expansion franchise in league history to make the playoffs. It is in the opinion of this fool that the K's are finished. Poor draft picks combined with just plain ole bad coaching has this team hanging on for dear life. If this team does not make the playoffs, look for a coaching change at seasons end. We all know momma runs the house, to include the funds. She won't settle for a coach that can't field a winning franchise, and probably will pull out the hatchet as soon as this thing is done. Which may be as early as this week. I'm out. Good luck to all teams this week, and yes, it feels good knowing you don't have to win another game until playoff time baby!

Gunner Cup 2010
Kavanators-178.1
Ruskies-170
Fantasy Land, Int. -- Dwayne Bowe caught six passes for 153 yards and a touchdown and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw two touchdown passes, defensive back Patrick Chung added 18 points and the Kavanators got their first eSFL trophy by beating the upstart Zima Ruskies in Gunner Cup 2010.
Although the contest was not for the league championship, both teams understood the importance of the event. The winner would receive their league entry fee back, meaning their season was free. In what most everyone with any common sense believs is the toughest Gunner Cup/Bowl layout in the history of layouts, the Kavanators proved that the winner of the Ballistic Bowl could easily be someone else with the removal of one bad week. The Kavanators missed this years playoffs by one mere game but rambled through the Cup tourney like it was his from the start. Many thought one of the losing teams in the eSFL playoffs would drop down into the Cup bracket and eliminate all the has beens who started there, didn't happen. The victory marks the second straight season that arguably the best team in the league wasn't the Ballistic Bowl winner, but the Gunner Cup champs. Last year the Perdew Pulverizers was dealt with tough luck losses each week, being the team that the most points were scored against each week almost every week. His team won the Gunner Cup, easier format no doubt, but he was considered the best team in the league by most before and after. Maybe this league needs to have the Gunner Cup be the actual championship guage?
The Zima Ruskies can't be overlooked in this even, as they made a serious run at one of the greates comebacks in eSFL postseason play. His team fel short by a mere 8 points and what turned out to be one big play from defensive end Jarred Allen. The Ruskies didn't win a prize, but did gain the respect of all the nay sayers when the playoffs began. A good season by the Ruskies, winning nine and losing five, was set back by a first round playoff loss to the Temp's Texas Boys. His team then regrouped and went into the Gunner Cup with high expections, only to fall short. Congratulations to both teams, but it's the Kavanators who get a free entry into next season eSFL season. Look for both of these teams to be serious threats to the Ballistic Bowl again next season.
'I've been saying for a while that parity in the eSFL is here," Zima coach Jess Kazima said. 'I got texts from everybody across the nation, from Alaska and places all over. ... Today we played for us, and for all the teams that wanted that chance. We came up a little short, but look forward to next season"
Kavanators head coach Ron Kavanaugh stopped his players from dumping a Gatorade bucket on him before time ran out, lecturing them with a smile on his face. When the final seconds ticked off, the Kavs ran about the living room in a frenzy, eventually collecting near the Ruskies band and the corner of lost drunks filled with Gold-clad fans.
And eventually the Kavs doused their coach, too.

eSFL Insider, week 17-2010
Week 17, 2010 eSFL Insider
Congrats to Whitmore Workhorse's on their Ballistic Bowl XI Championship!
Whitmore proved the entire league wrong this season and knocked off Goliath, Pardue Bruisermakers, for the underdog victory. Whit got solid production across the board with Steven Jackson, Joe Flacco, and an MVP performance from tight end Kellen Winslow. The Bruisermakers never showed up for this game and
took a beating. His boys seemed like a lock for the championship this season, but once again, his team laid down early as they do every year. Take nothing away from Whit, as he knocked off team after team with an amazing playoff run.
Kav's Kavanators win their first Gunner Cup Championship.
Kav's Kavanators knocked off the Zima Ruskies for their first Gunner Cup title.
The game came down to the wire but Zima fell one Jared Allen sack away from earning the title. Kav was sweating it out till the end. Zima was down big heading into the final two games of the weekend, and made a huge run to close the gap.
This coming week, the 2nd annual eSFL Pro Bowl will take place as the winner of the Ballistic Bowl and the winner of the Gunner Cup face each other in an exhibition type game with no monetary value on the line.
As we close out another fantastic season in the eSFL, a few reminder notes for next season. The entry fee will be changed to $115.00 for enhancements to the league. The winningest coach in league history, Boot Hill Balut coach Terry Rhodes, is changing his team name back to the Rhodes Runners after only 3 seasons.
Perdew Pulverizers are going with a new look in 2011, up details have not been released yet.
The eSFL can now be followed on Facebook. Go check it! Its still growing everyday.
